Nice, sounds like an import so be sure to check and let your insurance company know as it will need to be stated if it is, some companies will not insure non UK cars, probably from Malta and a quick way to check is if it has a non Subaru alarm or a foreign dealer details in the front page of the service book.
ericoopers car, IIRC IM (Subaru UK) never sold MY08 hatches in blue, JDM OR Euro imports only came in blue.
Motorpoint had quite a few blue ones for sale back in 08/09, were really well spec'd with gold BBS in 17's/18's, Recaros and nav units, infact same car that the 330s was based on but IM fitted the ppp upgrade to create the 330s.

I saw a Blue 2008 STi at Subaru Nottm when I was looking, that was blue with gold wheels with an aftermarket b/box (might have been a Janspeed)

Revolution247, HT Autos will be a start for you, but tbh there is not much available in the UK for the MY08 onwards so many source from abroad from places like japanparts, Avojdm etc.
Officially all uk cars are infact imports and come off the same boat at the docks but if supplied by IM are classed as UK cars, back in 08 the exchange rate was so good many independent garages brought in and supplied.
UK cars have an alarm fitted by Subaru which works off the main key and ultrasonics half was up the A pillar, locking wheel nuts and a type uk sticker from memory. If under 3 years old they still get the same warranty as a uk Subaru supplied car from your local main dealer, but this starts from the day it lands in the uk where a uk car warranty starts from when it is registered.
I would not be surprised if a few imports are now being px'd at main dealers, mine was px'd 2 weeks ago at a main dealer and is being sold on by them, not sure if they will tell the new owner it's an import but a quick look at the front page of the service book will tell you straight away if you look.
When the 330s came out I remember one dealer trying to sell a ppp'd STI as a 330s and even put the badge on the back, no recaros, push start etc!

Thanks for the quick replies guys, im picking up a standard 330S Hatch and just wanted to fill my head with ideas and start my list... This thread isn't helping already haha!
Red rear lights is a must!
Bit naughty saying its a Type UK though but it's not a main dealer so could be an honest mistake if they do not know their Subaru's.
The wheels are a telling sign for me as all with that spec had really nice BBS rims as standard in 17's or 18's in gold or silver.
Just be sure to tell the insurance company as many do not list non UK cars so will not insure, Keith Michaels or Aplan will sort though for you,

. Euro import, if its a uk car it will have a UK sticker on the small rear window.

Echo and agree with everyone's comments above. To the owner...... Don't worry its nothing to stress over as end of the day you have a better spec'd car over the UK equivalent and guessing at the same price

Personally would never deal or buy from revolution again. Biggest joke I've ever gone through over a stupid rear fog light, took six weeks in total to get it and I had to chase them constantly to get it.
Unfortunately to source parts use ebay and look in the states or direct from Japan, both will incur importing taxes but hey what can you do.

ok gents thanks massivly for your help.
i set up insurance last night ready to collect the car at the time not knowing it may or is a import, i thought genuine uk, nothing showed with them to say other wise and even called back to confirm they insured the car, i didnt of course say it was a import as of yet i dont knw for sure.
did a HPI check today that said it showed imports and didnt say anything todo with import against the VRN or VIN.
spoke to the sales man at SK performance where it is for sale and he genuinly isint aware that it may be a import and my dad i a rage i may have been missled also phoned boss performance direct where its advertised and was taken PX for a porka asking about the history and saying it may false advertisement in the hope i dont get the car i get my deposite back, a very helpful guy there said the car had one owner from new (matched v5) and was got new from northwich subaru??? he also said he would get me the old owners phone number tommorow to confirm this. i will attempt to contact subaru northwich or sub uk to get some guidence.
as many of u advise a euro car may not be a problem and if i like it i may as well still get it? regardless of dodgy advertiseing?

got a good mate cheching glass to see what that shows up.
maybe if got worried here but until last night thought id put a deposit on a nice car and was ment to collect it today, after a lot of arseing about im now back home with my old megane. so the genral idea is its a euro import but is this all ok and nothing to worry about?

Don't worry about it been an import.. I got mine from new and never had a problem. Even had it serviced at a subaru dealer.
Two main things you may want to fit are locking wheel nuts and an ultrasonic alarm. If they haven't already

As said nothing wrong with an import, just a well spec'd car. If it was a little newer I'd expect to pay less than a uk car as it was cheaper to start with but at that age they pretty much even out as the import is better spec'd so ups the price a little.

In my book if it's a straight clean car that has been looked after, decent miles, full history, you like the drive and it's at the right price then I wouldn't be worried about the euro thing and as said it's better equipped over the UK sti so it's a good thing. The car is out of warranty so no issue there. I'm sure the insurance will be the same to as it shouldn't be classed as a jap import but call Keith Michaels and ask for Gary or pm Moley (that's his user name), on here and he will set that straight. I would go for it

It was different a few years back when a Subaru import was a car imported secondhand from Japan, you used to have to get it converted from kilometres to mph, top end restrictor taken off, no underseal etc, but today parallel imports and UK cars are one and the same, just when they roll off the boat at the docks the UK cars are taken by Subaru UK, the imports are taken by non Subaru dealers like motorpoint who do this for a living and undercut main dealers.

Oh, and the seats in the car you are looking at are worth a small fortune, I think some were quoted 9k, yes £9000 to retro fit them to their cars from main dealers!

btw what mud flaps u lot have on ur hatches? do the new age ones fit the hatches?
what exhaust is best, the milteck? its very expensive tho, whats the scooby clinic one like?

Mudflaps, most recommended are Rallyarmours from the US, had on mine and great if a little expensive by the time you factor in shipping and import duty.
Exhausts, quite a few options, secondhand Prodrive, cobra, Hayward and Scott, miltek, just be cautious as on the hatches if you change the exhaust you'd need to get a remap at the same time to be on the safe side.

ill look into the mudflaps, there a must to protect the paint from stones and dirt
