What handling upgrades do you guys recommend /run yourselves?
I've been driving my brothers Megane R26 for a few months and love how connected it feels, really responsive steering, just the right level of steering weight and general confidence it gives.*
For a budget of £250 Ish what kind of basic upgrades can be achieved? I can get a friend to do the work so would save on labour.*

The brackets are much more OEM and look the part & also allot easier to fit and setup, A big bonus was the front flaps now have a small recess so after market wheels clear without compromise. Nothing wrong with the original design but I do prefer the steel brackets on these opposed to the plastic V1

What do you STi drivers use fuel wise – and I mean standard fuel not maps for tracking etc? I have plenty of Shell stations near me all selling V-power but it’s around 141.1p a litre (approx 10p over standard unleaded). Tesco Momentum is 135.9 and I often get the 5p a litre off vouchers, also get the clubcard points for the fuel and for paying on a tesco card = far better value for money than buying from Shell but is less readily accessible for me.
Read a few mixed reviews including the Thorney motorsport that found Tesco better than V-Power at least in regard to power & torque. But testing was done on an E46 M3 CSL. Anyone got any views or is it more a case of stick in Tesco when you can get it and if not V-power?

in short either tesco 99 or shell v-power, My fuel of choice was V-power as theres a few stations around my area as opposed to one tesco site next door to my work.

guys just an update regarding the over lays, any one that wants in please let me know asap but here is an update that i have sent to those who are afetr a set
well its time to get these ordered so if you are still up for a set then please can you sort the money out asap and I hope to get them ordered tomorrow / Monday
I have been quoted $42 plus $6 shipping, now I am not sure if the postage will be combined or for each set. so the total is
$48 which according to Google is - £30.89
if you can send it as a gift, if not please add 4% to cover what I think the rough fees are so there is enough to pay for the set
please could you send that over to
steve_1982@hotmail.com
(the gap is an underscore so reads steve_1982)
obviously there will be import taxes and then shipping on to you guys which is will split down the line, obviously depending on how many actually get on board and cough up for s set will dictate what the cost are so once its all done and I have received them I will let you know the final fee but I would of thought nothing more than a cheeky £5 may be a little more.
any how I hope you are still after a set and please let me know when you can pay for it as I really would like to get these e ordered by Monday
cheers

Rob, is it the same price for an STI, need to book mine in and handy to have your sort or prices to hand as ammunition, you really should get a van and do mobile servicing at weekends!!!

The STI is a different price mate.
it has the following on a 40,000 mile
Engine oil & filter
Gearbox oil
Rear diff oil
clutch fluid
Brake fluid
Wheel Rotation
vehicle inspection & condition report.
normal RRP £333.66 + vat
Discounted Price Via me £262.59 + vat
By the time I got a van & insured it as its a commercial vehicle It wouldn't be worth me doing just on a weekend.

Uprated rear anti roll bar - Whiteline BSR49XZ or BSR49XXZ
Rear subframe bush insert kit - Whiteline KDT902
Steering rack bush kit - Whiteline KSR207
£259.27 shipped from Balance Motorsport - although you may find cheaper elsewhere if you look about.
If you want to go further, then springs would be the next thing. I would personally recommend Prodrive but unfortunately they're no longer available. Have heard good things about the ProR/Eibach springs though.
A full geo setup also makes a difference and will be essential if you're changing springs and preferable if you do the rack bushes and subframe inserts. Prodrive geo settings are good.

Thanks for the info guys, I cant go down the lowering route as there are too many speed bumps around here and there is a dip at the end of my drive which my front lip misses by about 5mm at the mo
will look into those whiteline mods.
The steering just feels too light and disconnected at the mo, thats really all I need to fix.

Yes it is vinyl. I had a "tuning company" to install the vinyl last night when I realized the difficult level was far beyond my experiences...
I think the headlights looks quite similar to the Golf R lights now

looks like they've given you about 15% discount off RRP, same as what I can get.

A bit about the STI on here,

Starts at 13.08
Bit staged like the UK Top Gear but worth a watch.
