you are right, best looking one that they have built so far imo, and practicality is off the chart. Look at the post count and views on this thread to get an idea of how popular it is.

Question for STI hatch owners
Today found i had a nice little pool of oil under my car
took it to the dealer to check out and found to have a hole in the oil filter so then had to part with £85 for oil and filter change

this is the second time this has happened to me the first time it really pi$$ed out and i only noticed due to the smoke that was coming out of the back (Oil on hot exhaust)
when i dipped i could not see the mark so got AA to relay

question is stones or gravel hitting a oil filter a common occurance on the sti like i say this is the second time this has happened or am i just unlucky

for info the recall i got to prevent corrosion on the front suspension was for my previous car a fast back

Never seen that happen before, for starters the undertray should sheild from any road debris entering the underside of the vehicle and secondly the filter is up level with the exhaust manifold so shouldnt be the brunt of any impact. sounds like some ones trying to sabotage your car

Yes, where's your under tray!

Or is it a case of the oil filter seal leaking?

as said already, very strange that you have had it happen twice, with the undertray in place theres no way any debris could cause that

hole in the oil filter - weird, did they show you the hole?

Default STI Brakes

I have just had my 09 STI service and MOT carried out at my local Subaru dealer. During the service they changed the front brake pads. I asked for the old pads back and they provided these for me, without hesitation, in the box the new pads had come out of.
My concern is that the pads they fitted are made by blueprint (www.blueprint-adl.com). The dealer charged £132.31+VAT. He did not charge for fitting.
Have I been ripped off and are these pads up to the job?
How much for standard Brembo pads for normal road use?

Thanks in advance

Genuine brembo pads from NextdayBrakes.com are £80. so blueprint ones are costing the earth. the genuine brembo pads from subaru are £255.06

A Subaru dealer fitted blueprint pads? Lol, interesting! Did you ask for a cheap option? The std brembos at the dealer would be horrendously expensive.

Yes the Subaru dealer fitted these. No I did not specify a cheap option. I was away on a course and they asked if I wanted the pads changed as they were worn. They did say they would only charge for the parts. Not the labour.
At no time was a cheap option offered and had I been offered a cheap option I would of refused.
How good or more importantly how bad are these pads? Has anybody had experience of these with Subaru or any other cars?

Rob

I have had a quick look on NextdayBrakes.com and cannot see pads for the 09 STI.
Do you have part number?

Thanks

Derek Slack, Middlesbrough. First time I have used them. I have used S G Petch in Richmond for 15 years without any problems but it is 30 miles from my home. I thought I would try Derek Slack as they are so close.
