Have you currently got a v5/v6 follower you could measure ?? I've actually not got one to hand anymore I'll price up the retainers for you, do you require a freebie bag of collets too ?

Dead easy to remove those bits, pop up the screw cover at the bottom of the hand recess and undo screw, then simply pull the entire silver plastic piece up and away. Disconnect the multi-plug from the back of the switches and that's it off the car. The switches themselves are only held in by a couple of screws.

yes they are easily removed without taking the door card off. look in the recess were you pull the door shut you'll notice a small plastic cover, lift it up it reveals a screw, take that out then look at the front most part of the switch gear & surround you will see a little prying hole, lever gently with a plastic trim tool and out it will pop

Retainers are £4.54 each £72.64 for 16 I'll work on some better discount on those tomorrow, Like I posted I'm sure you'll need the collets to for them so I'll thow a complete set in F.O.C. Could do with dimensions of the v5/v6 follower

Sorry for the delay, been told the followers are the same size so that's good news - however I'm debating on if to upgrade the springs (and also retainers) so if you can just hold fire until next week I'll know better then. Really appreciate this btw

Resonated centre and T shape backbox with custom outlets...

After some deliberation I chose 4" slash cut tips slightly rotated and slightly staggered to completely blend with the bumper line.

It was the first time they have done this arrangement and the end result is superb !

Sean who did the welding up and positioning of the rear box and tips is an absolute perfectionist - its a real work of art.

And the sound... what an orchestra of sound - on a 80mph cruise pretty much the same as before. but tickling it on pull away or on full chat - crikey... a snarley, growling, gutteral bark !

Wanted to give the boys at Cobrasport a big up for workmanship and professionalism - esp Pete, Matt and Sean.

If I had a decent camera I'd take some shots.. but then I dunno how to post them up so... sorry about that guys.

i've previously had full H+S systems which are very good, but in times of recession CobraSport are offering something which is 'as good' and very well priced. My 380 mile round trip was worth it - still vastly cheaper than other local peeps.

Also Cheers to Paul666 for setting up the deal. You really won't get a better quality system anywhere, and they produce the goods as well.

I'm gonna have a minor map tweak shortly with my new Grimmspeed boost controller and bigger injectors and we'll see what sort of increase we get from swapping up from a 2.5" decat system to a 3" sports cat....

Answers on a postcard please.

Couple of friends/colleagues (younger than me) died suddenly in the last few months and it makes you think. So decided to do the sensible thing and call it a day and stop being selfish. I'd hate for the wife to be left trying to sell the Hatch on her own.
She's going to get a nice new something to replace her Zetec Focus(Diesel Fiesta 1.6 in majenta has been on her list for a while !) - I've no idea what I'll do but it will involve a track something under £10k !
Really enjoyed the modding over the last 45 years, especially the Hatch, but everyone has to grow up eventually ....... doh !

Sorry to hear that Stan wish you best of luck with the sale. The price is a little on the steep side especially with the way the car market is.

Cheers Immy,
You always expect to negotiate whatever price you start at !

Checked a few sites for 330S late 08 and seems £19-20K asking is common. So another £8K for £25K+'s worth of extras seems good to me

Hi Immy

It's the BasonR one from the states, it's based on the previous STI V lip as per to MY06 cars and before, way more aggressive than the MY08 lip, be warned though it's much lower and can catch.

Quality was not as good as previous products I've had from them but a little prep and a few coats of Plastidip and looks pretty OE.

Cheers

There up for 16500 but I doubt there selling for that much. Trade in on a hatch with average miles is £13,000, less if in bad nick.

It's all relative, I've been looking at 57/08 E90/92 M3's lately and you can get a decent one for sub 25k, was 50k or therabouts 3 years ago, also Hawks can be had from 8.5k up so Hatches from 13.5k upwards more than relistic.

To be honest though not sure I'd even look at a hatch for sub 15k and would rather pay a bit more for one from a fellow member with a few decent mods, generally when you look more closely at what you get for 13.5k and it will have a few more miles than normal, standard 17" rims and no goodies!

Stan, just do the sensible thing, sell the Sti and buy a WRXd You get a GT car, your wife gets a diesel run about. Win all round.

PS: Just trying to put a positive spin on what was a sad post.

Well said !!
I believe that 99% of the time you get what you pay for - or in my Hatch, a lot more than you pay for

Thanks Simon
Current plan is for her indoors to get either the new Fiesta Econetic Titanium 1.6 diesel in Magenta that she has been lusting after - 78/72/62 mpg on the cycles + no road tax ever + cheap insurance or (if I can persuade her) a new Volvo 1.6 diesel C30.
And I'd have an <£10K Westie for sunny days/track days and tinkering.

pics dont really do em justice, I really like them, they really balance the car out with the front lip and look like part of the car, not just an add-on.

and best of all its a 10 minute, hassle free, easy, clean, fitting job
