I know there has been some doubt over directional tyres on the hatch but has anyone used Toyo T1R's, they seem to be really good value, around £550 a set (+fitting etc)!

I'm still thinking about spacers to push the wheels out, 20mm should do it nicely! Comment on the safety of them???? They are available in 15, 20,22,25 and are far cheaper than a full set of wheels but the end result looks the same. Cheers Ian

I have no problem with spacers or the safety of them (recognised manufacturer and hubcentric such as Eibach and H+R). I was thinking of trying a 15mm one with the 330s wheels but i'd have to change to longer studs (bolt on ones such as the CDF Racing ones are min 20mm) which look like a PITA to change.

Cheers buddy, I really was not sure if they would suit the car being such a classic wheel, always loved them on the hawk and just had to take a punt, v.happy I did now, best mod so far IMO.

Pop ScoobyL a pm, he had 20mm spacers on his hatch and worked quite closely with a CDF to get them right as his initial set did not fit.

You'll need to get the alignment re-adjusted post fitment.. Mine was like a dog after.

Once fitted (piece of cake to fit, just need a socket set for the spacer lugs) there was slightly more tram-lining but very sure footed.

I checked the lugs every 2 weeks but they never came lose...

Looks wise it was way better.

Mine is a tad lower so I reckon I'd have problems with 35o/s.

A bit of topic, but its more busy here than the hatch forum

Do any of you know if the 330S navigation unit will play MP3's on a DVD?
I was just thinking that you could get absolutely load of them on a DVD.

Default Hatch STi on a budget

After a disastrous start to hatch ownership when my engine let go within the 2nd month , I now have the car finally as I want it.

Parts have been sourced either via the forums or overseas, and all for under £300 !!

Future plans maybe a remap when the warranty’s out

They do sit nicely in the arches now... was the car on standard suspension in those pics?

Maybe i'll look into the CDF stuff a little closer then, save me changing the studs with the bolt ons.

I'm thinking of getting a £25 Mp3 player and connecting up with the RYW connections, then the Vid can go through the screen.

something like this

then use these..
