If you want to look then look, if you don't then don't. For those that do want to look it's there choice and vice versa. I can't see that it is much more complicated than that, or am I missing the point?

Could I just point out and clarify that it is NOT a dedicated hard core **** section. It IS a section where **** can be posted. There is a VAST difference between the two definitions.

DCI - there is no reason to be rude. I was pointing out that the rules are posted so that people can see more clearly what the forum involves, not for them to start dissecting and making suggestions for changes etc.

But, and I think this is what DCI is also saying to a degree, it will possibly make other sections waaaay more boring once anything with a hint of an adult theme is moved to the pay only section.
The reason it IS about money is that there are definitely people who may even pay just to be able to follow threads they would have been able to see anyway as a non paying member.
Trying to get rid of trolls from the section or ensure that youngsters aren't reading what's in there is such a smokescreen.
If trolls are such a worry, how about sorting the rest of the site then? Personally, I like nothing more than to engage in idle banter with trolls
Oh and of course, the kids who may be on here are so inocent that they have never seen a naked lady or heard a swear word

To conclude - Don't care about not being able to view any **** that is in the adults section.

Adult material encompasses so much more than that! Do other BBS's have a adult section in which **** can be posted? Yes mate: Passion Ford (another IB site) also has one, as do many other (non ****) forums!
To everyone else and to reiterate what has been said lots of times in this thread:
The place isn't suddenly going to become a den of inequity!
We've taken reasonable precautions to see that people who shouldn't see the content don't, and are making the it non-intrusive/invasive for those who have access rights, but don't want to participate in it.
It's simply a case of "If you're not interested, don't look".
We are trying to cater for the whole community. We respect the rights of people who don't want to see the kind of content that might be in the adult forum, but we also ask that people respect the rights of individuals who do want to see that kind of content.
It cuts both ways!

In the time I have been a moderator I don't recall ONE instance when I've had to reprimand a paying member for trolling. I have never had to ban a paying member for any length of time. It is ALMOST INVARIABLY non paying members that troll and cause trouble.
Why? Cause they are buoyed on by anonymity and lack of accountability. If they get banned so what, they don't lose anything!
A paying member knows that
a) We know who they are and can hold them accountable
b) If they get banned they're out of pocket
I'm sorry if that's distasteful, but that's the truth and I'm sure the other mods will report similar experiences!
The only way of completely stopping spammers and malicious posters is to restrict access rights to paying members: people don't pay to spam!
As for the rest of SN being sterilised by the adult section, it's not going to happen. If you post content that is suitable for viewing by all ages then it stays, simple as. Adult material wasn't allowed in the open access forums before and it isn't now. No change.
The difference is that there is now a place for it, which is necessarily restricted!
