Also on the subject of kat D, remember the mondeo ST i looked at about 3 months ago, that was a kat D and LOOKED ok, only after my mechanic friend looked all round the car did we find things VERY wrong with it!
I would say 35% off the value for a damaged/repaired car, no matter HOW good it has been done.

If you prefer to use another figure thats your choice, but not based on fact.
Did you buy your car from a dealer? If so that would largely explain it. Dealers charge more than private, it was then a year newer, plus all prices have fallen recently due to the current economic climate.
Good luck with the sale.

welcome to subaru / petrol swilling cars ownership
did the dealership have large windows? that's top nick bugeye sti money!
as someone has already said something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. One problem you may have had selling yours before is the differing colour rear spoiler. It would put a lot of people off. not only for the expense of having it sprayed - most likely about £200 to be done properly - but also the time it would take to possibly be without a car and the fact that the owner appears to not care enough to get it matched into the car. now we know that's not the case, or at least i'd have thought so, but prospective buyers may not.
if you're prepared to wait to sell your car then it's worth putting it up for the higher value and holding out for the right buyer.

fair points about valuation on mine. I compared mine to exactly the same spec as mine (withouth the kit) and with FSH and the ones i saw are going for around 8k (and they all have double my mileage).
taking into account i dont have service book and cat D is why i have mine up for less than the 8k i think it is worth.
Service histories, as has been said, can be bought for a fiver so they really arent worth as much as what people think.
going by the interest i have had in the 2 days it's been on piston heads, it seems i have valued my spot on. Would even go as far as saying maybe i've under valued it.

Paul, if you are getting lots of interest, I would say you had got the price about right, the objective is to sell the car after all. If you had the price higher, maybe you would not have had any interest, always hard to judge, but better sold quickly, with minimum advertising and hassle.

Hmmmmm.....Kat D and no history?
When i had mine on sale a few months ago (52 WRX with FULL history) i was told by most in here it was worth approx 3K, how is yours worth twice the amount without any history?
Not knocking you, just asking a simple question, as i will be putting mine back up for sale soon.

Unfortunately your car isnt exactly a head turner is it Pizzza?
Paint the spoiler and match things up properly and I think interest will change dramtically
