As pathetic as it sounds, I was so depressed trying to quit, even the doctor told me just to give up quitting at that time, just told me to try again and that many smokers have to try several times. I was gobsmaked he was so unjudgemental.

On the bright side, maybe. When I was trying to pack in, I was going to a group thing. The lady tested my carbon monoxide levels, and asked me when I'd last smoked (on the way there), and she was amazed my level was almost that of a non smoker. Wierd.

Try this way then Lisa, I will send you the Allan Carr (easy way to stop smoking), its about 170 worth of pages, You have nothing to lose by reading it and I will send it you and you dont need to pay me for it (just pass it on to others that need it)

I used zyban, but kept forgetting to take them so used willpower and the thought of the amount of money i would save £3000 a year.

Am on day 34 without a ***. Had Champix for 4 weeks and it has done it for me. I really enjoyed smoking too. I think Champix rather than Zyban-my wife had Zyban and it didn't work for her.
Be aware though that some GP's will make you try Zyban first as its the cheaper option. Champix is about £28 a pack!! My argument was that I pay my taxes and want the top stuff and I got it!
Good luck

I tried many times to stop, but when at work it was too difficult, always craved one after doing a spot of concentrated work.

In the end I fell off a ladder and was not able to smoke while in hospital. When I came out I thought I would keep trying and it worked-never touched one ever again. Did not use anything to help, but I did corner the market in Maltesers!
