DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!!

It's a pig of a job. Unless you have a ramp then it may not be so bad. However if you're going to do it properly it's an engine out job LOL

Okay guys

I may need some help here from a Clifford car alarm expert.

Connected the battery tonight and she came alive, alarm chirps as normal and i click the key fob to lock and unlock the car, all works fine.

Then i put the key in the ignition and turn to position 1, dash comes on standby as expected. Turn to position 2 and hit the unlock on the key fob as normal. This normally cancels the immobiliser and brings the dash to full life turning the ignition on.

Sure enough the car comes fully alive and the defis sweep, instruments come alight, headlamps working, all lights working and indicators. However i get no fuel pump prime from the intank pump. Nor will the motor crank when attemp to turn the key.

Nothing happens.

Im assuming there is something thats with the immobiliser for the both to be non functional. The alarm is a Clifford Concept 600 and was fitted professionally about 6 years ago i guess. I cant seem to get hold of the installer so will try him again tomorrow.

Other than that are there any experts here that can give me any ideas?

Frayz

Not being rude mate, but is it definitely alarm related?

Lol. Not rude at all mate. Just seems strange that both the cranking and fuel pump circuits seem to be down and it's both of these that the immobiliser normally cuts. Only had a few min on it tonight before having to go out but due to these to issues I'm assuming it's the immobiliser.

I know the danger of assumption lol

Hi Frayz.
I've got the Concept 650 on mine. I lay the car up over winter and remove the MAIN battery. When I refit the battery I have to give it 8 hours for the system to recharge and become enabled.
Hand book quotes
To disarm auto-immobilisation when active-
Turn the ignition on and enter the system PIN code. (this will overide any possible low hand set battery)
Good luck

Dude. You could be on the money there.
Simon JGM also suggested this could be the reason.
Superb. I'll try again tomorrow. Thanks so much.

Silly question frayz fuel primer fuse OK? As I've said before I leave the battery(fully charged) connected over night.

Have you tested the battery output when you crank. My dry cell could be fully charged but would still refuse to prime and turn the car over. They hate being uncharged and I am guessing you haven't had it on trickle for 3 years ? I'd have a go with a jumper pack on the battery to see if it's output related ? If you haven't got one I can charge mine for you to borrow mate

Okay chaps,

Current symptoms:

Key on to position 2 and the dash ign comes alive. However, no lift pump priming and no motor crank when key is turned.

Battery all charged and has been connected to the car for 24 hours. Still no luck as i initially assumed it was the Clifford immobiliser. So i start tracing back all fuses relays etc.

I found the ENG IGN fuse to be blown in the jucntion box under the D/S dash area. I replaced the fuse and it blew straight away when i attempted to key on.

Ive checked the offending fuse pins for ground.

Key off and both pins buzz out at ground.
Key on and the lower pin goes to 12v and the upper pin buzzs to ground.

Can anyone tell me where this upper pin will run to so i can check it for damage etc?

I also disconnected my engine loom to see if that was causing an issue and no change.

Ive pointed to the fuse with a screwdriver in this pic, hopefully someone might be able to point me in some direction.

Martin,

Stock ECU currently. Engine loom has been altered for Syvecs ACT and MAP sensors.

Thats it.

Rob, tyres arrived yesterday cheers mate. All seem okay. Compound feels exceptionally soft though lol.

Okay guys, time for an update.

Ive been scratching my head all week with this fault, but after some careful searching i managed to trace it to one of the engine harness plugs. This coupled with an underperforming Odyssey 680 battery was giving me all sorts of issues.

All fixed now and hoping to save the battery with a Ctek charger.

Now she is fully opperational in almost every way, fuel pump primes and fills the swirl pot. and she cranks on the key. By mistake id left the CPS sensor on and when i cranked it she fired first time.

CPS sensor is back off now and will be left to crank for oil pressure when the Syvecs is fitted.

I siad shes almost done, lol. I think i need 2 new Defi sensors. Both the EGT and water temp are not showing sensor input. lol. Easy fix though.

So as of tonight im absolutely elated to have her ready to go
