i'm sad to say that the whole impreza ownership / forum thing has lost a bit of interest for me recently, but after not really being on here much this year at all this was the thread i made a bee line for. really compulsive reading Frayz
i've got bored even while owning and driving the car, the way you keep up the passion and interest while the thing is sat on the driveway is very impressive, keep it up fella

Lol @ you lot. Yes ive been away on hols but back now. Still not had time to do my downpipe as i have no way of getting my car to the workshop so i have to wait for a friend to bring his TIG set over.
Once the downpipe is done then more work can commense. Only when im happy that it all fits properly will it actually bolt the complete turbo system in place. The engine mounts need to be left loose at the mo as the uppipe requires teh engine to be raised to fit/remove. This is due to teh wastegate takeoff.

Oil cooler plumbed in. I'll clip up the lines when the rad gets its final fitting.
Also finally have a downpipe that fits. She dont look much but ive been on hold for this since dropping the motor back in.
So we're back in business, hopefully the homeward run now

The best modified Impreza on this forum........ WHEN it's finished...
Really is a work of art!! Your attention to detail is spot on I really would love to see this in the flesh when it's finished, please please please don't make it a trailer queen...

frayz will the oil cooler lines be that close to the headers once clipped up? wont the oil go through the cooler and then just get warmed straight back up running so close to something so hot?

Wrighty, there is a good 40mm+ of airgap as it is at the moment. There will be more when it's clipped up. Firesleeve and ceramic coated headers keep the lines safe enough. I also have some reflective kevlar sheet to wrap around them once they're in final. They will be fine. I've seen lines run closer than this without the additional ceramic coat and they were fine.

Cheers guys,
DEI wrap arrived today so took the turbo/uppipe back out and got these wraped up. Gave the wastgate pipe and extra layer of Kevlar to help protect the steering UJ.
Got the steering rack to swap when the bushes arrive and i'll get these droped back in and clamped up tight
