You need to wear cotton gloves

I'm thinking of wet sanding the top part then finishing it again, there's a little grain to it that I want to see if I can remove... you can't have them back just yet

Hi mate your cold air feed how does it work? Does the air filter sit inside the mould you made? Or am I way off

The insert is still in development mate. when im happy with how it fits it will have an 83mm air feed coming into it from the bottom. This feed will be fed from the front of the car.

The large K&N cone will protrude into this box and the cold air will directed around the filter.

Hope that helps

Here we go chaps the rails are finished... for a DIY job in my shed I'm very pleased with the results, alloy is such a soft material and with the rails having flat surfaces it is difficult to get a finish like e.g. stainless would give you but they do bufty up well

Frayz kid gloves with these because they will mark easy but when fitted there is no need to handle them again and they will look mint

Stunning polish job Si, now i wish I had made them prettier than I did.
My compressor cover was polished by Garrett but its nowhere near like how you've done the rails. Thanks a load mate.

Few polished bits here and there with the matte black and red manifold shouls really add nicely to the finished motor.

Cheers guys, I'm very pleased with the results here.... There is a stage which a pro polisher may have done to help with a mirror finish but that's not possible for me but overall I'm well pleased and it's not even my car lol hopefully that will encourage Frayz to clean even more lmao

Don't worry mate, I'm not into the "shiney bling" look. Just wanted the rails reflective. Matte black is much more me

they look too good to put in a engine bay - just use them as a big paper weight.

Not my pics and I haven't been on a proper computer to upload em on my Nasioc thread.
My friend Simon convinced me to have them polished and he single handedly did all the work on them.

I can't wait to see them on the motor

I'm away this week mate so nothing to update I'm afraid. I have a new template for the wing box that need finalising and then proto 3 will be made next week.
Proto 3 will be basically exactly what the finished article will be... I hope. Get that fitted and get the power steering pipes modified. Then, dare I say, we can drop the motor back in.

Exciting eh?

Sounds simple..... good to meet you today and I look forward to seeing proto3. Your plan for proto3 (in my opinion) will look much better than 2, so I look forward to seeing you post up some pics of it fitted...Pencil me in for one83mm
PS God knows what the people sitting around us must of thought we were chatting about...

Lol, must have been an interesting convo to overhear haha.
Yeah hopefully the finished one should be pretty nice. Just need to finalise fitment. Quite exciting for me too this one. Not made anything like this before.

Not much to update at the mo guys as im waiting on a couple of parts before i can progress. Nothing major, just some fittings and hoses etc.

Also should have proto 3 of the wingsert made this week. This one should be almost bang on the final design providing there are no fitment issues. Its much easier for me to mess about getting it right before the motor gets dropped back in. Then believe it or not we can look to get the motor dropped back in. Im getting quite excited now its all looming closer.

Also, for all you facebookers, you can now follow the latest developments and custom parts by joining the frayz-engineering facebook group.

Also huge thanks to Mark (RB5 286) for taking the logo i designed and will be making me some small decals which should look like this
