T26 WRC - Frayz Engineering WRC S8 TARMAC SPECIAL - aka THE BOMBER

Basically it's something ive always wanted to do.
The catalyst was when I was out in Damien's 700bhp TA legacy at RallyDay last year.
His car is circa 1100kg and it just felt amazing having so much weight out of the car.
It was that that made me realise I needed to ditch weight out of the car. So I set about stripping it. I know I'll be putting weight back in it with a cage, but the cage will be light as its T45 so only about 50kg or so. I know ive had about 100kg out of it since I started and ive got more to come out of ye doors yet.
So here I am trying to make it the most focused and hardcore road racer I can.
Just because...
Well... I love it. Lol

I want to still try and keep a level of finish that it looks like it's been done properly with some thought. I can't afford to do all I want to do straight away but at least the inside will be done to a decent level that I can improve on when funds allow.
After this I'm thinking tubular subframes diff carrier and fully rose jointing it including the TCAs.
Then depending how it goes I eventually want to WRC body it. Wings, bumpers, the full enchilada.
Not interested in any more power, I want it super focussed.
Then go back out a tease the supercar boys again.

I have recently decided I want to try and get the GTR down to 1500kgs without losing any of the creature comforts.... I know, its nowhere what you are aiming for, but a GTR with 200kgs less weight would be an awesome machine!
I have always loved your car, from 3-4 years ago, when I had my 2002 Prodrive, so all the best with it!
As a matter of interest, what diffs are you running? Standard or not?

Thing is Joe, anyone can build a track car. A stripped out tatty looking racer that gets used a couple of times a year.
I want to still try and keep a level of finish that it looks like it's been done properly with some thought. I can't afford to do all I want to do straight away but at least the inside will be done to a decent level that I can improve on when funds allow.

Also it's also not always best to solid mount everything it can cause vibration and stress points that will lead to cracks and also can make the suspension too stiff resulting in twitchy handling.

Not really sure that's the case, there are very few people who can build a track car themselves.

Fair pionts Arch, im sure you understand my comment reagrding anyone can do it as a bit flippant. You know what i mean when i say anyone can rip one to pieces and make it look tatty.
The silod mounted parts will only be inline with what the rally cars do, nothing more.

I always thought solid mounting was best but have been educated recently in as much as some compliance is needed within any set up.
I know what you mean red builds was messing with you lol.
Should have first shake down of mine a week tomorrow and then a map tweek to V power map and a race fuel map.
