I knew what it was I wouldn't pay the price for it, I know John's has pulled around the bolts where he mounted it.

Frayz did you weigh the car before you sent it off mate?
Just so you can get a weight on the new cage

Unfortunately not Joe, which is a bit annoying as I wish I had known what I was starting with. However I can easily work out as I know exactly what spec T45 is going and can measure the tube lengths.

The design has changed slightly and it's now mostly based on the S12 WRC car with a few subtle changes. The main structure is only 38.1mm and the roof cross and front English tubes are only 25mm to remove weight from high up.

If you look at an S12 WRC it will be almost identical to that.

I guess I'm just going to do the car with the ideas I have in mind and weigh it once I'm done and see where we are.
I'm hoping for sub 1350kg once complete.

If I achieve that, my pump fuel map will be 389bhp per tonne and my meth map will be 425bhp per tonne.
So anything sub 1350kg will be pretty damn good.
My car is listed as 1480kg stock, so it's a big ask to dump that much weight inc adding a cage, big intercooler, big turbo, brakes etc.

Haha. And some Paul!
I need to work on my waistline anyway. A cage to navigate and a fiancée to marry this year.

Still more coming out.

Standard seat rails gone, seatbelt reinforcements gone, basically every unused bracket and fixture is slowly coming out.

It's really tempting to go this far with mine - it probably won't go back on the road this year now that I have extended my overseas run by a couple of months so I could take it right back - it's all your fault

If you hadn't identified all of these extra brackets that increase weight I wouldn't know to take them off - stirring the electrons

Plus, my seat mounts are a little shabby so fitting a couple of bars and bolting the seats to them would tidy it up a treat - target is to be lighter than a classic

Between you and Budgie you're emptying my bank account

I need to decide on which way I am going to go with the car and I'll let you know, I need to fit all the engine bits that are sat in my garage and get it mapped next anyway, which will be interesting with no tax and test

Cheers Arch,

Here's how she looked last.

However she's been on the back burner for the last week as a rather well known rally drivers body shell needed finishing off and getting in the booth. I've posted some photos of the shell below.
The exterior still needs colour, but the underside and inside has been finished.
If mine comes out half as sexy as this, I'll be delighted!!

Work can now fully commence on mine this week.
