PC gaming "On Demand" - OnLive... looks interesting...
Hmmm.... well, I've just registered and downloaded the software and I must say that I'm quite impressed.
The GUI is very slick, and the way that you can watch other games is very nicely done. I chose to play a preview of DIRT3 just to see what it was like and I was surprised at the quality, speed and overall usability of it.
They're obviously doing something very clever with the graphic compression and streaming as the quality is really quite good. I was expecting it to look like a poor DivX - but to my eyes it all looked quite nice.
Anyway - worth a quick look and after everyone saying that it'd be awful (2.5 years ago, when I first posted this) I'd be interested to hear what others (that perhaps 'game' a bit more than I do) think.
- and whatever that Gaikai.com thing is I don't know, but the website doesn't even work!

Just tested it, i tried Warhammer Space Marine that i recently played the demo of on XBL and Splinter Cell Conviction that i own for both the PC and Xbox.
The graphics for me were horrible, muddy, washed out and they seamed to look like a poor youtube video, i am pretty sure that both games were running the lowest graphics options, which is understandable i suppose, they both seamed to feel reasonably OK with a controller, but i could notice lag compared with the "real" versions.
Splinter Cell lagged a lot more then Space Marine and i suffered from some freeview TV style artifacts when running around in a circle.

I was impressed by it as well. The graphics are not the best, but the concept is great. I like the channels that let you watch and the bragging videos are good too. Also you can try most games for 30mins to decide if you like them. First game you buy is only £1 for a limited time. Still not sure which to get.
When viewing it on 50Mb I was very surprised at how GOOD it was - I was expecting a YouTube video experience but it was nothing like it, no artifacts, good quality (OK, not as good as running it locally on a decent PC with good GPU) and generally very surprising for streamed video running fullscreen and at good frame rates.
My download is an average or 10-11Mb so could be why graphics are poor on mine. I wonder if it detects your speeds and alters compression to suit??
Android APK here.
Only a viewer for now and taken from the HTC flyer so is meant for bigger screens, but works on my DHD and should work on anything with Android 2.2+. Shouldn't be long before you can hook up a bluetooth controller and play the games on your phone or tablet.

The crap ISP companies we have in this country and BT are going to let this idea down badly I think..
I bought a Alienware M11x for gaming when I am offshore, its a amazing bit of kit, not had any games not play on it yet and all you need to do is plug it into the nearest HDMI TV and your laughing, even the 11" screen is not that small when using it on it's own..

My brother has the M17x and it's bloody massive so that's put me off.
