Immy, you'll want our LM400 turbo if spool up is critical as this responds like standard (or better on some applications) but will produce 400bhp. It easily out performs our old Hybrid versions One of these reasons we started this long development project was our experience with the old Hybrid versions.

Just to back-up what Iain has said about Miltek.... mine has been on and off more times than I can mention and I have not had a problem with weld quality. **** happens though I suspect.
The only problem I had with my Miltek, was that my engine blew the resonator wadding out of the downpipe baffle. Too much ooomph!

Well .. been for a little bit of a play ... YUM YUM !!
Apart from nearly being caught out by two marked and one unmarked car it goes very, very nicely through the gears - far stronger than before, but not madly ballistic, so .... a great day to day vehicle with a little bit extra .. and I am sure it will make a wonderful track toy too.
Get it in 3rd or 4th at 5k and there is no hesitation and it just goes very strongly and quickly all the way to 7.5k or so.
Quite a distinctive turbo whistle now too
So .. all in all .. very pleased

Good stuff Chris When you get used to it I'm more than happy to give it a tweak if you want more power....
Turbo Dynamics have just called to say Tim's LM480 is fine so it must be something else... We'll get it back tomorrow and as soon the Milltek DP comes back (hopefully Monday) we'll put new exhaust gaskets on and give it a try.
As Simon said, it might be that the mapping was compromised by the exhaust blow....

Kayen, the old Hybrid turbo would involve TD machining our the VF36/7 exhaust housing, welding in a new plate and installing the Garrett cores. They worked well upto a point and were the only option at the time. However they are limited by the standard exhaust housing design and material.

Why does the currency exchange rate have to be so crappy for us Americans I really want one of these turbo's, I just need to keep saving I suppose haha. Atleast I will be able to look over everyone's dyno sheets and compare setups and make the right choice for my setup...

It is noisier though ... you can always hear the turbo spinning ... I love it .. but some may not ... mind you I have a snorkleotomy so that might explain that a bit ?

What I should add is that it needs to warm up to come on song .... which is fine by me as I like to let the oil come up to temp before I boot it ...
I am also pretty sure Iain said he's set the map up to take a feed from the water temp and so if it gets too hot the map restricts the performance to protect the turbo. But I could have missunderstaood how that works, or what happens as I am a bit of a luddite on cars.

I am completely envious of that statement...
That just isn't right to say in the same sentence haha. I wish I had access to sweet cars like that. Alteast I was able to get a hold of a JDM MY05 Spec C Engine.

Your joking aren't you?! Sterling has took a proper beating over the past 24 months. The exchange rate you get now is a lot more favourable than what you would of got in 2007...... it was less than a £1 to $2 then!

I think you really need to talk to Iain, Immy .. (as I would recommend with anyone considering buying one of his turbos) ... as those cars are a different set up to mine ... and hence I suspect would have different factors for consideration

I was gagging to do it to the RA-R i had (the yellow one) but it bloody sold and there wan't enough feedback on the turbo at the time.
Yeh will give him a ring ,but there are two major factors in difference which is the bigger inlet hose and the blue printed engine. So i assume it only means more power
