litchfield twin scroll turbo

I use a LM500 billet on my Hawk, built 2.5 etc, in 4th from 2000 rpm I now get 1 bar at 3100 rpm with full boost (1.65 bar) at 3400 rpm.
In 6th from 2200 I get all the boost by 2900 rpm.
And I could pull it in earlier still if inclined.
The turbine housing was tooled up by Iain Litchfield to overcome the shortcomings of the standard ones, its been a success in my book.
As per my project thread 534 bhp and 538 ft lbs on V Power. Power at 1.5 bar torque at 1.65 bar.
cheers

Yes its totally different, the std turbine housing restricts an engine so much it can fry the turbo from excess heat.
The billet turbo is the same as the non billet, just the compressor wheel is different.

and if I want to make the same change to my LM500 billet, it's possible?
what do I tell exactly to Litchfield?
because 200 rpm spool, it's beautiful!

Bob is refering to the standard VF turbine housing being restrictive, not a previous LM turbine housing Tim, that hasnt changed. The message is being lost in edits by Coper04.

That may not be turbo related though Tim.
You can always chase the next development, things don't stand still, so why be bothered if a better turbo comes out?
You would have to be disapointed if one doesn't, means the development is maxed out.

I'm pretty sure that Bob has an interation of the LM500 Billet on from yours Tim. Also Bob and your spec are far from "like for like".
Anyway.... I haven't done anything to the power side of my set-up for a while. Best do something about that then!

Did a bit of rummaging around in Bob's build thread, and did some graph comparisons. At SRR dyno, in 4th, Bob is seeing 1 bar at 3500 rpm, mine saw 1 bar at 3700 rpm.
On the road, Bob reports 1 bar at 3100 in 4th but not sure how that was measured (DeltaDash probably). I used Syvecs logs to show 1 bar at 3700rpm - not sure that tallies with the RR comparisons.
But Bob's build uses Cossie heads and cams, and CR is 8.7 whereas mine is 8.0...those things alone could explain a difference in spool!
I'll retract head back in to shell now

Only Vpower I will add meth with a new map after. About AFM pipe i'm using the pipe supplied with HDI GT2 newage intercooler kit. So the size should be like the stock pipe.
Carlo
Max power screen
The power curve is strong, with about 400ps, from 5400 to 7300rpm.
I added other pictures with also boost curve in my blog.

I've eventually got round to putting on a Hybrid FMIC and Bob Rawle Induction kit .. plus have upgraded my existing LM420 with a billet wheel .. and already have 800cc injectors
Unfortunately the Megarom on mine will not activate the AVCS/VVT .... so Bob had to use the base map to ensure the AVCS would work .. but it means I can't have the in-gear mapping available on Megarom
Very nice drive home though ...
ps .. I've deliberately kept to the 420 as I am on standard internals and there are 83k miles on the clock so don't want to push it too much

You will need an LM400 turbo, injectors, fuel pump, front mount (deffo on the LM450) and a remap. Standard engine will cope dependant on mileage

LM500 then (not sure if the standard engine will cope though)
Shaun\Litcho etc will be able to advise

If you want bang for buck (and great spool / driveability) just stick the LM400 on (with a remap of course) with everything else OEM.
LM450 needs other items to suit (FMIC, injectors, Induction Kit etc etc)
