Sorry to hear about your car
GPS trackers which use L1 and L2 GPS signals can be easily rendered inoperable by using a portable vehicle GPS blocker/anti-tracker device which can be purchase for £40 and work in a 70m radius. A decent steering lock is a better deterrent.

Im not sure it helps the OP but trackers can be blocked very easily and some companies dont activate them quickly.
Feel for the owner though cos its a sh*t thing to happen

We tend to find trackers pretty useless. Only a very small amount of stolen cars are traced.
We had one guy ring the other day to make sure he didn't need tracker. His tracker renewal had come up, and before paying his £120 renewal to them he asked them to search for his car. They couldn't get a trace of it, despite the fact the car was sitting on his drive. They told him to ring back the next day and they'd try again when it wasn't cloudy!!!!
