I always wave or flash. or sumtimes i go to flash and accidently put the wipers on
so if you see me do this it is also a hello

I used to use the "lexus lights test".
I.e. wave out of politeness and then look back in my mirror briefly to see if they have lexus lights on the back. If so, remember them and dont bother waving in future.

yes if i notice them have been a few that i have missed though from paying attention to the road usually some idiot in front of me or at junctions so if ive ever missed you sorry.
