I got a big info pack in the post this morning saying 'prepare for the new EPG'...
I'm not sure I want to risk manually forcing it to update. The box is tempremental at the best of times

Got it Tuesday but not really had much of a chance to play with it. Seems ok so far and not that slow.
Did try adding ITV HD a couple of times but never shows up in my other channels list. Will have to take another look tonight.

With my Amstrad box some of the controls are on the top of the box. I used to have my surround sound centre speaker on top of the box but pushed towards the back. But the weight of the speaker would sometimes, usually after ten mins or so would trigger the "Back Up" button on top of the Sky box. So you would be watching a recording and suddenly it would keep stopping.
Took speaker off top of Sky box and everything is now normal.
Leslie, no everyone will have to have it. But some people don't like change that's why majority of them don't like it.
Tbh it's a vast improvement.I don't like the mini tv so I turned that off. The search channel is instant also week ahead planner is now cached so it's instant no waiting.
The menus are not hard to get around I have to learn my way around it as it's my job and I had no problems.

I think it's certainly a step sideways, not an improvement.
I don't mind change, but change should be better, some of the things are worse.
Still, it's what we're stuck with, so make the best of it.

It's much slower to respond.
You have to press select twice to select a channel.
Although you can disable mini-TV, you cannot disable the sound - I found out who got fired from the apprentice last week before I had watched it due to this......
When you press TV guide, it's much slower to scroll through to movies, or kids, for example. OK, you can still press the relevant number if you can remember them, but if you can't, it's a pain.
When scrolling through any list of progs, or your planner, when you get to the bottom you used to go back to the top if you pressed down (or go to the botton if you pressed up at the top), now you cannot.
Some of the new features already mentioned in this thread are really good, but I just feel that overall it's not a step up in everyday useability.

I completely agree about disabling the mini-tv should disable the sound of what's on tv. Can't we have the elevator music back from the old EPG.
I like the mini tv but the idea goes to pot when you're recording two things and want to watch something you recorded cause you see and hear one of the things you're recording.
