Went and picked up some bits today from work and from Motorscope

Gonna give the Halfords 5W/50 motorsport oil a try this time (Made by Comma Oils - Few people running it on here with no bother)

Also Millers Racing Brake Fluid (hopefully wont end up boiling this lot)

Good thing is, I found out today that Motorscope can make custom lines for anything, so I think I'll be going to them to get my new braided brake hoses done.

Going to rip out all the standard copper pipes, run new braided line from Master Cylinder, into the cab of the car to the bias valve, from valve down to the back of the car into a T-Piece and off into each of the rear callipers. Then on the other feed from the Master Cylinder, I will bring it out into a T-Piece and into each of the front callipers... Hopefully this will give me better braking (well it should be the best it could get)

Gave her a service this weekend, oil changed, and checked her over.

All started and she's nearly ready for next weekend, just need to source a set of tyres and give her a wash and we should be on our way

Just uploading the videos my lass took here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/jamesjamz?feature=mhum

Came back with a broken car... The flexi on my headers/up pipe has broken and is blowing like hell and ticking.

So now on the look out for new headers

This is it for the winter... And i am no longer going to remove the AC/Heaters as it saved me today, as the windows steamed up so had to put the relays/fuses back in for the AC to clear the windows.

I would advise against it... i now see what all the many people who said i shouldn't do it were on about now... It was horrid, I couldnt see a thing, so had to go back to the car find the relays and put them all back in... 5 min later the whole car was de-misted with AC

Aye the ticking noise got worse with every drag i did... opened the bonnet and could hear it coming from the flexi.

Must have done it with the launches and the engine moving on heavy lift off of the clutch

would be a fair amount of work? plus if changing rack you'd have to get all you're alignments checked / adjusted again?

Right, suppose I should update this, as its been a while.... Uni work has been getting in the way of the scooby work, final year so lots of work to do, but only a month and a bit left at uni, so need to get the scooby ready for Duncan to remap and ready for the track days I have booked.

I have a massive pile of boxes and bits ready to go on the scoob, so gonna be lots of hours put in the scoob soon (once i get all my work sorted and handed in)

So here's a few pictures of goodies I have piled up

First off my new brake lines, going to be moving the bias valve inside the car for ease of adjustment, so one line from the MC, into the cabin via a bulk head M10x1 adapter, then from the bulk head into the bias valve, then out the valve to the back into a t-piece to split between rear left and rear right (will be removing the standard copper/steel line)

All the fittings to do the job, just need to measure up for the other bits of line

Fuel Pressure Regulator, to go with the Top Feed Fuel Rails I have coming soon, and the 550cc STI Pink injectors

And some other boxes with goodies in:

Map sensor from a 2000 Classic with some wiring harness so I can convert my 93 map sensor, brake pads (these are just spares incase) brake refurb kit for the Jag 4 pot calipers I have.

Still to arrive (Walbro Fuel Pump, V7 Coil Packs - going to do the coil pack conversion)

Easier and cheaper to get top feed parts. I've spent less on the top feed conversion then I would have if I went and got 550cc + side feeds. Plus if I ever upgrade injectors, top feed one are easy to find.

good luck with your dissertation and great choice on the 18g

...interested in the injector conversation, been thinking of going the same way on my v6...what did you have to buy to allow you to run the top feed injectors?

Hi Ian,

The conversion requires you to buy adapter kits from Carl Davey:
http://www.carldavey.co.uk/product.php?id=12

This converts your manifold to top feed, and gives you a bracket to allow you to fit a top feed fuel rail onto the phase1/1.5 manifold
