Yeah I think I need to try it and see what it gets there again.
I thought the rollers where it was mapped might have been wrong. But they had another WRX with similar mods pulling around 300bBhp.

Dont bother taking it back its pointless..........
you shouldn't rely on RR figures for reasons i hinted at earler. You could go round all the RR's in the country until you find one that gives you a power figure your happy with........it doesn't mean you that you will then he happy with the mapping job they have done on your car.
Have Simon (JGM) take a look at your car when you have some cash.
Just to make you feel even better I had that power figure and more torque on a TD04...............
I hope you get things sorted mate.....let us know what your next steps will be and how you get on.

I’m going to get JGM to have a look at the map then when I can afford it get a FMIC and boost controller .
Think I will go to the guys I had my first power run with. But only because I will get more of an idea of what I have gained with the mods.
Ill keep you all posted. Thanks guys

TBH chris, 281bhp seems bang on the money for those mods, if PFC is mapped at 1.1bar. That said, the torque figure of 241lb ft is low - you'd expect it to be at least c.265lb ft
Best you could expect is about 290bhp, worst 270. I expect you feel you should be geting more due to the manifolds and uppipe? What's the make? What's the bore of the up pipe? IIRC, the up pipe doesn't want to be more than 2.5" in diameter for most situations (don't know whether this ultimately affects power though - probably just spool)... Could be the reason for the 'low' torque(?)
BTW, if you're getting 281 at the fly, then expect about 225-235 at the wheels (i.e. 4WD/engine losses to the tune of about 20%).

It’s a HKS manifold and uppipe. Not sure of the bore size though.
So all these mods just bring it up to the power of a standard STI then.
What can I do to get some real power gains without going to mad on the money side of things.

Next stage would be 550cc pink injectors and the Apexi MAP sensor (available in an Apexi boost control kit, including its own 3-port boost solenoid). You need the 3bar MAP sensor (which plugs into the side of the PFC in the footwell) to go beyond 1.1bar.
With these fitted, the boost can be upped to a safe c.1.4-1.5bar (potential for 1.9bar, though!) which, together with the mapped 550s, should give you an easy 300-310bhp. If you were to splash out on a Hybrid GT Spec FMIC, then upto 340bhp/340lb ft is easily had (safe max level for gearbox).
At these sort of power levels it IS wise to go for the FMIC, to erradiacte det-inducing heatsoak issue of the less than ideal sized and positioned std TMIC...
Contact Mark at Lateral Performance re. the 550s, and harvey re. the Hybrid FMIC...
