Let's look to secure a place for next year wherever that ends up...

A nice trip to Iceland!!!! Not the shop for some Turkey twizzlers.. but the island to get some offroad (you can take your tractor ), snow, geysers and some open air naked Jacuzzis....

Dave - I'm also looking to take the family to Cyprus after the NY trip, so that means funds are definitely out for anything else...

The naked Jacuzzis also means I'll be needing some work on the old figure....

tractor.. tractor!! Now this may sound like the truth hurts sort of retort, and albeit the pick ups origins may lay in the agricultural sector a tractor just cuts me mate, and cuts me deep, it has a 'TD' engine not unlike your BMW, however their the similarities end, as pick ups are driven normally by workers the back bone of the farming world, where as BMW's are driven by p3enis's with no concept of signaling their intent, and I have never stooped so low to mention this

liking the Iceland and Jacuzzi idea though, preferably may i add if their is more than you and me naked in it, you know what happened last time, the police just would accept it was an initiation ceremony

Foo me mate... this had me crying at work....

I think the Derv bond between us will outlive the tractor comment (though I have been stung by the p3enis comment)... and even that Police incident will be OK... though I feel the long range pictures they took would be a little embarassing if they came out.. especially that one with you grabbing my ears... I've still got the marks...

thanks for all comments on this, but lets please not degenerate into fighting and faling out once more. we are a big(ish) club now and i dont want to see us all split again.

yes.. there is a trip to the alps, and if you want to go (and have the money to) put your name down here, if not then dont! its quite simple.

now lets move on and move forward!

we have quite a bit of planning to consider for this years show season, and the guys who go to stelvio will not be able to input into that (not being mean or nasty, just time wise i recall we struggled somewhat last year when people were away).

i know a few people are talking about not renewing their subs because this has reared its head again, but please reconsider this, there is more to the WYIOC than this arguing!

If i did as good in real life as as i have on face book free poker i would be a millionaire by now!

As for the tractor comment Mick, i wouldnt worry too much about it coz Al's car dosent get very far from A to B, the sat nav has been programmed to do circles instead of going in a straight line So you would actually get to where you want to be faster in a tractor!!

Oh and I hear there is a problem with the treated leather and all drivers start with an infestation of acne within the first month of driving -

This may help though Al -

Jeez, I'm pretty laid back when it comes to stuff like this but tbh this is just too funny... for one I'm puzzled with whats going on here and some peoples take on what being in a club is all about... For me its being able to get on with, chat, share common interests and such like... Now when it comes to things organised as club events then they have a defined club event theme and open to club approval, discussion open attendance...
Now that said, and I'm a member of several clubs, "not wanting to digress on there exact nature" if friends within a club think they would like to do something themselves, I'm struggling to grasp why that would be looked on as being underhand in any way...
If anyone in any club I'm in, who are mates & decide to have a night out driving in the moors, then there could be no reason I'd expect them to have to inform me what they were doing...In the same way I held a party at my house I certainly wouldn't feel obliged to inform members of the bondage scene...

As far as I'm concerned I couldn't care less and nor would I want to if others do as they please, in there own group of mates... Who am I to impose that I should be included in there group... That I'm afraid is extending the power of member ship too far...
I can't see how there can be a cut off with this either, that's like saying, if you have a party and invite a few mates, who happen to be in your club... if its an average party then, I'm not fussed about you not inviting me...
If you have girls aloud around, they they were really frisky... How can i then demand that you invite everyone in the club...
Anyhow enough examples, I for one don't care what others do in any club within their close circle; so long as there's adequate events, meets and club activity organised for the club then whats the problem... You can't expect people to open everything they do to a club, that would simply be to intrusive, where do you draw the line...
If there's an event that anyone considers a little on the specialist side, one that more than likely is never going to appeal to any more than a handful of friends, then why would that be a problem...
If someone has an idea that lends itself to being appealing to a large group of people and the person feels it would be a great club event then put it to the club, sound fair to me... To put this also in perspective I organised a karting event... paid £950 for the track gave six weeks notice, and guess what i had about 3 people who in the end could go off here with completly open invites. And on the initial post of the event, i got one reply almost within an hour saying "Not going, working....errr! what on a Sunday morning 7am-11am

And that was relatively local with a seat place of 20... and £40
in the end i was still too places amiss, and a couple of id people pipped in.

Sorry for the long post but really, this is just plain stupid... think about all the permutations of what you feel you should be involved with and what you shouldn't... it makes no sense to expect anyone to feel obliged to offer everyone round to a party... its the same thing...
But saying that as a club you must also allow and encourage ideas and events that are achievable on a club basis...

Right I'm off for a damn good brad pit... following this, several laps on GT3 Prologue and then bed for some rampant sex... take your pick which you feel you should be invited to...
******* BTW will be taking place tomorrow night in the FT car park around 3am, everyone is welcome...

I'm not taking any sides, just outlining the reality of the above posts...

Sod it I'm wadding in too, the only issue is a club member implying something underhand was occurring, EPIC FAIL !

When the club get round to doing a run to Stelvio, I will be interested.

If a bunch of pals want to go this May, then fine.

IMHO.

As there was so much interest last time, but ultimately a rather disappointing final list, it was decided by the majority of those who went to just do it on the quiet this year, however as there seems to be some very timely interest I feel we should now make it public.

Basic schedule would be the sailings as listed above, with the first 2 nights hotels booked prior to travel, and the rest being sorted / haggled / blagged on the night. No firm routes planned yet either.

If the £ / Euro rate stays at around the 1:1 mark then reckon on about £2000 for the whole trip for a couple, slightly less for just one person (so long as you're prepared to share a room)

Last year cost me around £1300 (including accommodation and food / beer for myself & Jade) but back then the Euro was at around 78p, take into account the current exch. rates, and the extra couple of days and £2k will be about right.

We're looking to book ferries in the very near future, so anyone wanting to go would need to confirm AND pay the ferry cost (Currently £39 return IIRC) and the first 2 nights accommodation by this month's EOM.

It's nice to have some interest being shown in this, perhaps this time all those showing such genuine enthusiasm could actually make!

Believe me, it's worth it...

List....

Sticky, Jade & Ash
Frosty & Windy
Si
AET Crew
Dazza
Dave.sti350

So what are we doing??? When do you need some money. And whats the dates..

Looking forward to this and so is Matt. And don't mind going on bike if it makes a space for a car... Just a thought.. Think Matt will go on the back of the bike with me .. Last time it was on the R1.. at 175 on m62... he said he was telling me to slow down! but did not know till i stopped

Jct 21. to dry salters 12mins...

Right I get it now. A double act. Oh man, the irony.........

So Paul. Let me get this straight.

Because one person hasn't responded to Dave yet, the WHOLE club are now tainted and slandered in your posts.... Cute.

Let me put it this way: Please explain to me how the club isn't welcoming? I can answer it for you as it's plain to see.... This is all because Sticky (as you seem to have made him the head of the Stelvio group) hasn't responded quickly enough for you and with enough detail.

I can also add why the hell should he answer and justify anything to you when you demand an answer?

Don't you think this is utterly and totally crass, shallow and an affront to all club members??

Don't you think Dave is big enough to call Sticky himself and discuss this?? I've spoken to Dave about this at length and given him all the help he needs...

You think Sticky answers for everyone on that group?
Why isn't this directed to Andy, Ellie, Si, Ian or even me? We were all there, in Italy discussing how going back would be fantastic........

Your new focus of personal attention, using this club board to help you, is clouding your judgement and shows utter disregard for the club and it's members.

Jesus man... you really can't see it can you?

I'm not going so how can I answer his question! As I said, I've spoken to Dave and told him everything he needs to know. The main comment being.. this club board isn't the place to do it...

Even if I was going.... how's it MY decision.... how's it Stickies! It's a group decision. Why are you constantly focussing on Sticky..... Your personal issues with him are simply nothing to do with this club, it's members or the Stelvio group. You seem to have a very short memory as it wasn't that long ago that you were shouting the same from the roof tops to protect the club.... now, for some reason you don't give a stuff...

To his credit, I see he's not been on here to slander or say anything against you... but by God your taunting the man.....

I've answered your questions.... you answer mine....

please can we put a stop to this public bitching? if anyone has an issue with a member, take it offline, this is not the place to be pointing fingers and causing hassle.

the stelvio trip is going ahead, it wasn't originally offered to club members for one reason or another, and now it is... if you want to go, i suggest you call sticky for details and to pop your name down (and pay deposit) and not post here.

tempers are frayed over this, and i dont want to see it escalate into the arguments we have experienced before, the club is not the focus here, just an arguement between two sets of people... who just happen to be involved in the same club.

grow the fluff up and stop this child-like behaviour!

Well, I've not heard anything about anything; but heyho... there's time... Is it now open to everyone?

Also the way things are looking its going to end up being pulled; as what's going to happen is; there's going to be be lots of animosity; people are not going to want to have a trip like that under those conditions, and the people they wanted to go with as friends aren't going to want to go... That will lead to a snowball effect and the people who originally were going won't be, thus leaving the people who think they'd like to go but really can't afford\were just miffed will either go or not go... then no one will go...
Jeez I enjoyed writing that... Reminds me of a Python sketch

Anyhow... Its pretty obvious what's going to happen here isn't it...

Thing is, I'm getting a little tired now of what is in effect playground stuff; and after all these years, its spoiling what started out as a group of like minded people...
There are a few now who just dip in and out of here, Al included as its just getting too petty I'm getting that way also...

TBH I can take it or leave it now, makes no odds... But please for what is "a gathering of like minded peoples sake"; everyone take a step back and have a good think about what it is your involved with.. It is not a meeting of the United Nations for Christ's Sake... it doesn't matter if Rod Jane and Freddy, Dave, Darren and Mick have a ******* session on Wednesday night; or invite each other to a swapping party they heard about,so long as they bring back the evidence.

Anyhow you get the idea... Its not the Prov-IRA whereby a splinter group are kneecapped, nor does it matter if Al drives a gay car... nor me a Galaxy "Renault Scenic for sale BTW " its a group of people with common interests who come together to share them... If its not that then as they say on dragons den "I'm out"

I can't believe how difficult this is. I'm looking around for the Cameras.... Look again at your recent posts and I've actually supported them...

That comment was meant for Paul, as I was replying to his post, not you. My PM to you explained that just in case you missed the point... as you did... I obviously missed it's target... typical RAF eh? Or should that be the Army not being at the grid they said they would....

Regardless. As I said in the other thread.... I'm pulling back from all of this playground behaviour (as correctly identified by a few people) as I do actually care for the club and I'm losing the will to live.

We are pulling out of this trip. Its a shame that a few friends planning a trip can cause this much TROUBLE and constant PETTINESS.

I normally stay on the fence but in future if once a trip is organised within the WYIOC means the same trip can never be repeated within a group of friends then im OUT!!

Sticky and everybody else that we shared memorable moments with last year, this is nothing to do with you, i hope that we can arrange many more trips LIKE it in the future and im sorry

Ellie, the club has no official input to this trip, the group of friends were, and still are free to do what they like.

imho
