Its nothing to excited about, XP still does the job just fine, if its nice visuals you want use Ubuntu or move over to Apple.

Don't think so, its I think its still build 7000.
If you do install it watch your MP3 files as theres an issue with Media Player 12 messing them up, cutting off the first 15 seconds of each track. Microsoft have released a patch to address this, so make sure you install it before using Media player.

Thanks. Must have the patch as one of the first things I did was setup media centre to play all my music and working ok. Applied all patches that came up on first boot after install though.

Liking it so far, the fonts are so clear. Microsoft better do something for Vista owners on price though, you don't expect to buy a new OS and then find another new one out a year later.
