I really like this car however, I think there is a very real danger of you ruining it with the roof and mirrors.

It looked awesome with the white wheels and the sun strip but I think the roof and mirrors is a step too far.

Rest of the car looks trully stunning though

Na mate it was'nt performance orintated. I would of thought there was some weight saved. Carbon fiber doors do look good, the only problem with them is they creak which ain't a problem if you don't mind the noise.

The next job on the hubs is to cover out all thread on the studs and the holes were the bearings sit. So I can send all the bits of to the paint line for powder coating.

I got all the holes cover up today by using the old rubber seals wrap in silver foil. The reason I wrap them in silver foil is because the paint line oven goes up to 290 deg C and the rubber seals will melt. The over holes that are smaller and the tread I just used masking tape.

These went down to the paint line at half 4 this afternoon for painting they are being left in the oven over night to the let the paint stove off properly which will make it really hard.

This thread is great. As you all seem carbon crazy could you help me.

I need a pair of carbon front wings with the intention of later getting a carbon bonnet and boot lid. Am I right in thinking that it can be difficult matching up carbon parts with their different weaves, colours and furthermore, would I be better positioned if all the parts I want come from the same manufacturer?

In this case I am looking at the Sebion products and would like some reassurance I am not going to run into any future trouble matching carbon parts.

Seibon Carbon Fiber Products: Hoods, Trunk Lids, Fenders, Lip Spoilers, Accessories...

That said, the carbon wings are advertised as "IMPREZA/WRX/STi - GC8 > 1998-2001". Now I feel these are advertised as 1998-2001 as they are intended for the facelift. My car is a 1997 (Catalunya) 4-door with the facelift but with different interior. So do you think it is marked up 1998 just because that was the official completion year for the facelift? Lastly, does GC8 mean coupe and if so is there any difference in the front wings design.

Please help.

I think you will find if you get them from the same company the weave will match up, I made sure the guy who made mine, did the weave all the same way. As for the colour I think that is only in the laquar. The thing you will have to watch out for is the size of the weave and can change if you do get them from differnt company. Seibon is a very good company not cheep thou.

I think they will fit on your car, I think the only difference between pre 1998 and the facelift model is the bonnet, Grill, bumper and the interior. ( I might be wrong thou ) As for GC8 I don't no what is means all I no is that it's something to do with shape. ie GC8 Classic, GCB which I think is peanut eye there are some more but I can't remeber what they are. I hope I have been some help to you.
