Carbon Fibre wide arch classic
Just got in, from fitting the sub frame and brakes. Me and my mate started at 2 this afternoon and finish at 9.30. What an afternoon and evening so tired. I write it up tomorrw some time got loads of picture's. Going to bed in a min for some.

Ok, what I'll do is right this up over the next couple of days.

- first thing to do is jack the car up. So we can work under it.
- These are the parts that are coming of.
- Anti-Roll Bars
- Drop links
- sub frame
- Hubs
- Steering Rack
- Wishbones
- Spay all the bolts with WD40 just to losen the rust a little.
- Then start removing the parts one by one.
- Because the sub frame was remove we had to support the engine, the best thing to use would of been an engine hoist but I did'nt have one. So I had to use the next best thing a fork truck.
- Its all remove now just have to put it back together with the new painted parts.

reagards the front droplinks i think you will have to take them off once fitted to car as you will find they sit at a very severe angle, there was a post on here from ages ago where a fellla thought he had bent his just turns out he had alloy wishbones, also i wouldnt use the whitline ones as they bang like hell on a day to day basis and also rust very quickly, i even managed to snap one of mine,
this is what i went back to:

These are the painted bits fitted.

- Subframe
- Steering rack and wishbones
- Hubs
- Anti-roll bars and anti lift kit.
- Brakes and drop links
- With it all on the only things to do were to bleed the brakes and get it 4 wheel align.

From: Slowly rebuilding the kit of bits into a car...
Couple of wee spacers will sort the drop-links, IIRC mine actually came with some.

The car is staying now, went out a bought a peogeot 107 55 plate as a little run about, so the mods can continue. I've been contact with one of the mags to feature the car and had a photo shoot done a week ago.
Here is one of the pics,

It should be in a mag by xmas.

The rear wing is from Mad motors, you'll get a great service from there.

looks real nice, but i dnt like the white roof/rims/wing mirrors and would prefer a v5/6 sti carbon fibre spoiler just my opinion, but well done on all work mate very good job 10/10
I understand this post is waaaaay behind the power curve, haven't been over to this side of the online pond in a while... Anyway the rust removal with the Malt Vinegar looks awesome, but I wanted to suggest Coca-Cola... A friend of mine back in school, her Step-Dad used to go to the local swap meet and buy old nasty rusted tools and soak them for a few days in tubs of Coca-Cola and it would just suck the rust right off just about anything he threw in the vat...
As for the car, that looks amazing, I would agree the multi-tone color scheme isn't my taste/style but thats the whole point isn't it, we each do our own and appreciate everything we see, build off it, modify it etc... I have to admit also that the seams between the metal and the CF are gorgeous, I still don't understand the bonding process between materials like that, any chance you have a sec to share even a light explanation?

And ABW do it.

Should be fun.
