Lol, neither does my stock 5 speed but hey ho. It lasted all last season and every day to work till it finally broke 4th on a dyno day in October. Popped a new 3rd/4th in, £200, job done.

I suspect if I get up to Elvington at somepoint this time I'll chuck it down the strip..
but I have a fair bit of mechanical sympathy when it comes to launches so might have to hand someone else the keys

Looks unlikely.
Intercooler pipe came off at high rpm this afternoon (jubilee snapped/failed) and the metal pipe clouted and scraped on the exposed bit of adjustable cam wheel.
I need to inspect cam wheel, cambelt and alignment and replace intercooler pipework so it cant do it again.
But quiet exhaust (i hope below 101db) arrived.

Car went on dyno to diagnose header leak yesterday as I can find no leak but my sore eyes after a long journey said otherwise.. lost 400rpm of spool but recent changes to the map have seen a little more power headers off next week to fix leak

Is it just a header-to-head gasket failure Simon - or something more e.g. a holed header branch?

dunno.. on the ramp underneath it with engine running I could find no leak.

it is probably passing past a gasket on boost.

That's one hell of a curve!

Is it on same boost of 1.8 or have you cranked it up a little? And I guess 10%meth still or have you added a splash of racing fuel?

rev limit is 8k at the moment.. I have revved it higher before.

I deliberatly tried to keep runs to a minimum yesterday so as not to cook the r888s or break anything, rev limit was consider and more boost but gearbox only went back in that morning so would have been annoying to have broken it. I think I will use it as is for few track days I have coming up and then consider more boost and rev limit before a strip and checkup and refresh in the winter as engine has done 14k miles.
