Oh no, big fan of them too, just haven't tried anything wilder than HKS 272s.

The clutch stopped holding in the higher gears or so I thought so I dropped the power to 480 and changed another rear shaft.. started looking for another clutch.. in the mean time I replaced my other car (was an Evo6) with an 03 Sti and that has been fullfilling my subaru fix as a daily driver so I have no longer been doing upto 1000miles a week in the peppermint one.
I have been taking it out at weekends and scarying myself instead and generally hooning about.. rather nice not being 100% used to the power not driving it everyday. Amusing the other weekend on a country lane coming around a bend to find a teenager stood on the verge with his hands over his ears.. lol
Last weekend I turned the power back up again and the clutch has not slipped yet.. perhaps it was driveshaft/diff related..
did enjoy taking it easy today in it with my 2year old boy in the pass seat.. he sat there going faster faster and then covering his ears as I increased the throttle a bit.. lol my other son won't go near it..
I am teatering on the edge of buying a GT35R but the car is so rapid and perfect as is for a road car that I am worried I might spoil it, but then the engine seems to be crying out for more and reminds me of a bike engine the way it revs.
I did a couple of GT35R equipped cars last month one made 542bhp with a minor issue stopping me pushing it further and another made 582bhp..
The first one is coming back this week hopefully with issue sorted, which will be a nice comparison.
Been too busy to get it on track again yet.

turbo is an MD321V.
the 2.5 is great for what you could call lazy driving.. the torque is fantastic.. you just plant your foot and off it goes.. however I find that this tends to make the power feel like it tails off early.. as the high torque finishes at mid 5000rpm and the power takes over usually with a lower power compared to torque if below 500bhp etc..
The 2.35 just feels like it wants to rev and I am hitting much higher revs and iti s much more exciting the more you rev it etc..
Personnal preference I guess..

If you do 'spoil' the car with the GT35R, etc (my god, can't believe I'm saying that!
).... then you can always revert back to this current 321V setup!
You'll just lose a little bit of cash reselling the turbo/any other supporting mods on, that's all. A price worth paying to venture into the 'unknown', as it might put a huge perpetual grin on your face (that you otherwise wouldn't have known about!)...
Oh and lol at the kids'/volume anecdotes!

i guess with the GT35R you will have to change the exhaust set up and run an external wastegate too so it's a little bit more involved.
At least one of your lads is into the cars Simon, the other will eventually, although i'm sure you hope they wont be when they are 17+

it is more involved still than that as I have broken two rear shafts as is.. so really need to change to R180 rear and problably to a 6speed.. I could stick with as is but probably break the box..
but pick up a gt35R on wednesday.. not rushing to fit though but good price and happened to bump into seller coincidentally this afternoon.. will get it inspected / rebuilt and go from there.

yes, and there is only one item I don't currently have yet..

I even have some new (to me) funky headers..

I might put the car on the dyno again with current setup before I pull it apart again.. possible do goodwood circuit in Nov and then change the turbo.

indeed.. it merges to one just before the turbo and the wastegate branch etc.. not taken pic of uppipe.. althoug the 35 is obviously not twin scroll the setup seems very effiencent and ripe for conversion to full twin scroll in future

think they were straight cut but believe they dropped quoted rating of all of them..
tend to class 500 of either the limit on them for long term use.
I used to hate 6spd and would have risked it on the ppg but using a 6spd in my other car everyday I am much more used to it now and may just stick a 6spd in this car before I break the ppg.

just had a look on PPG`s site, They rate the 1st and 2nd Straight Cut too 400 BHP
1st and 2nd Straight Cut Synchromesh Gears - Subaru WRX 5 Speed - Pfitzner Performance Gearbox
and the 3rd and 4th too 600 BHP
3rd and 4th Straight Cut Synchromesh Gears - Subaru WRX 5 Speed - Pfitzner Performance Gearbox
Why is there a 200BHP difference on the 1& 2nd gears and 3-4th?
the straight cut dog sets 600 BHP @ the fly, but i take it this is a noisy whiney **** of a thing?

I know they changed them all..
I can do that.. drop the boost in 1st and 2nd.. lol
the loading on launch and quick change to 2nd is a lot more than a pull through 3rd.
dog box is a bit of a dog (ha ha) to use on the road, it is the changes (engagement) that are dog, the gears are the same..

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?

Thanks for the correction Paul, while i got you stalking me, Are you running a Solaris on your machine too?
