eBay do jack all to sort keyword spamming. There's a dealer on ebay that is always selling cheap Inovite (sp) PFF7 copies and listing them with Prodrive in the title. They're not Prodrive alloys, but he seems to get away with putting it in the title, and it's not even at the end in brackets for search pickup.

Paypal also suck. They charge you way too much any time you receive payment, take up to 7 working days to transfer money from your Paypal account to your bank account, and like the OP said, if it's not as described, they don't care about the claim.

Basically a seller only has to send something close to what you bought and as long as they do it by recorded delivery, you're stuffed.

The only way you can get your money back through paypal if your not happy with the item is if the seller sends the item with no proof of delivery. You say it didn't arrive and paypal will pay you back.

I would dispute it under whatever closest matches the fact that it looks like he is selling a scorpion exhaust when it isn't and see what happens. If you notice anything with Prodrive in the heading has to be from Prodrive on ebay after lots of people claimed Prodrive this Prodrive that and it wasn't. I sold a front splitter that had a Prodrive sticker and they pulled it and I had to clearly state it was only the sticker.
The item was described in the ad as a Scorpion, which it isnt, therefore item is not as decrribed. Condition has nothing to do with it.

His listing title quite plainly intends to deceive and is keyword spamming at best, fraud at worst.

Report the item to ebay as well using the link provided in the listing. You'll get an email which you can pass to Paypal.

Listing Policy Breaches > Listing policy breaches (improper keywords, outside links etc.) > Misleading title > Intentionally misleading or deceptive title

Report item:
File a Report:Report Item

If there's ever been a case of mis selling then this is it! However if he'd cleaned it and given a good description he might have got a few more quid. For all those that think it looks like scrap - wake up...

If you've paid by a credit card - via Paypal, then you can go to the credit card company and get the money back form them. I did before, Paypal found in my favour when I was scammed for £100 for a camera that didn't turn up. The seller withdrew all his money and Paypal couldn't refund the money as it wasn't in the sellers account. (Their responsibility surely). Anyway I contacted my CC company and they sorted it - I don't know if they took the hit or if they took the money back from Paypal.

Good luck
