Great replies ! Keep 'em comin'

I'm confused by those that think it's to keep people from getting too close, as you need to get within 6 feet of their rear bumper to be able to read them !

Steve.

Cool

Anyone seen a "pony on board" sticker?

I hate having to slow down for babies in the middle of the road

The "Baby On Board" sticker is not for the benefit of other drivers. It is actually a disclaimer for anyone who might come and get into the car - it acts as a warning that you will end up sitting in baby vomit / half chewed rusk / soiled nappies etc...

Unhappy

Do those parents on here who have "Baby/child/other on board" stickers really believe that the sticker will encourage less moronic driving from the tailgating community?

Them stickers just make me all the more determined to get past due to the numerous reasons stated above.
My Favourite are the "Please let buses pull out" which is also in the highway code but just means "I have a big red / green / white etc bus and I'm going to randomly pull out of this bus stand even if you are already half way past!"

Time for the thread to change direction again

The "baby on board" sign is daft in my opinion but its nowhere near as bad as the "If you can read this - thank a teacher" bumper sticker !!! AAaaaaaaaggghhhh !! Half of the teachers at my school couldn't have read it !!

I could read before I went to school !!!

flame suit on !!!

John

Wink

I used to have a "Show Goldfish in Transit" sticker on my old car as a bit of a p*sstake! Made me laugh anyway. Still got an "I speed up for horses" sticker if anyone wants it!

Or " I'll slow down for horses when the yclear their own sh*t up " !!

Seriously, I do slow down for horses but i do think they should pay road tax, have insurance (is there a legal minimum ?) and have a test of competence. Too often I see very young girls(12/13 yrs) riding on there own in charge of a very powerful animal. Nedds to be more regulation in my opinion.

Question

Why is it that where i live, it's all the mums in their little run arounds who have 'baby on board' stickers. Yet insist on doing 30 over speed bumps, some achieving air!!! when its an estate with a 20 limit and kids on bikes everywhere........ Phew, bit of rant this morning....
