Will this fit my afterburner decat centre section? Not sure if the centre is a 2.5 or 3? (99 classic)

these will fit to the 2 1/2" systems but you will have the slight step in your exhaust.

you can get adapter plates which bolt in between and smooth the flow between 3" and 2 1/"

its a shame you don't do the turbo up-pipe with the slip jpoint or the resonated centre section without the braided part.

Anyone gone for the sports cat on 2.5 06 STI?

If so what was the sound improvment over the OE part? What was the fitting like and were you able to marry it up to a 2.5 inch system without the adaptor gasket?

Im considering one as want to stay within MOT restrictions but want a little more burbel that my Ovel Magnex backbox and center section is currentl;y making.

Any advise would be great.

Spoke to Ed on Wednesday to see if he could do me a deal with a full system incorporating one of these sports cats. Well he did me an amazing deal, exhaust turned up yesterday and it looks absolutely fantastic.

I was going to wait and fit a few things and fit them all at once but this exhaust looks so good that I cant wait to fit it so hopefully I will be sticking it on next weekend.

Great service, thanks.

Arthur

i thought about getting a complete system, trouble is i like my prodrive rear box as it is not loud at all, i can drive along the motorway at 70-80 without my ears bleading .

i might get a new centre section but at the moment JAPSpeed don't seem to do a resonated centre section on its own.

got mine fitted today but they couldn't get the up pipe off so they are having it back in after Le Mans to take the turbo off and then try and get the up pipe off with it on the bench.

took it very easy for a couple of miles/20 mins to let the ECU adjust and then stopped to top up fuel, some guy came running oer and said my car was on fire, nah mate just the heat tape settling down.

that heat tape take ages to setle down and it smokes like a b@st@rd!!!

gave it a 20 min drive trying to keep it at the 4k to 5k rpm to get nice and warm and it still needed longer to burn off the tape!!

Glad you are happy with the Sports Cat. Yes the tape can take a while some times to clear the Sticky part depending on how well you wrap it. So long as you make sure the ends are Wire wrapped it is fine

its been well wrapped, just checked the box to make sure there was enough left for the up pipe and it looks like they used both rolls just on the down pipe

they said it was good stuff and easy to put on, and it was stainless steel clipped at each end and the middle.
