With your providing the quote reference and asking Mr Greenlight to comment specifically as to your application, I have been able to review the application and Underwriters notes.

The factor that influenced the heightened premium for you was 3 claims being presented within the last year upon the vehicle that you propose to us, two of which were shown as outstanding.

Whilst your postcode is a higher rated one, which resulted in a higher base premium to begin with this was not the major factor due to your having owned the vehicle for more than a year without a theft claim in the equation.

Your occupation is also one that we rate in a preferrential way.

I know that we have missed the boat this year, but once the claims have been settled in your favour it's likely that our available Underwriters will be back to reality in terms of premium rating.

Kind regards

Tony
Hi Tony,
cant still understand i have 1 pending accident which if you look at it will go in my favour the other 2 are non fault. car never been claimed for in theft car has thatchem 1 and tracker retrieve. i got a quote from Moley a well known guy on here for insurance for almost half the price you quoted me in fact your quote to me was £15.00 more than AA. I may of only had this car for a year but i have 3 other insurances with full no claims. past cars owned and driven are high performance cars. Never mind i have been quoted happy.

Hi GC8,

The list of dont do's is designed to save a prospective applicant the trouble of filling in an application for something we will be uncompetitive for.

Forums enable us to be specific enough to target the models of vehicle that we do wish to cover and thus we're upon Scoobynet to attract Subaru Impreza business. We are not here to attract Renault clio 172 (non ABS) "cup", 200sx or E36 BMW models.

We cover all performance Clio models other than the 172 "cup" model, which lacks ABS and this is clearly reflected within the claims statistics for this model. We DO cover both standard and modified Clio V6 mk1/2, 16v, Williams, 172 (with Abs), 182 (inc Cup/Trophy and 197 models.

On the Nissan front 200sx's are excluded due to poor historic claims performance, but we do cover both modified and standard 350z/fairlady, Skyline GTR/GTS, 300zx, Pulsar (GtiR's).

BMW wise we cover both standard and modified 330, Z3, E30 & E46 M3 models (along with their M5 equivalents).

For Honda's, our only performance exclusions are the 2.0 CTR for drivers aged 21-24 (although we do cover the new shape CTR & GT models within this age banding.

The S2000 is also excluded due to prior claims experience, which having one upon our fleet here for 2 years we could see as to why we were experiencing the type of claims that we did.

All Association of British Insurers (ABI) listed/classified CTR, integra and NSX models are able to be covered.

We are a modified and performance car Insurance provider, but in order to remain competitive for the risks that do work well for us (which includes Impreza models) we do not seek to attract business for vehicles that have proven to have made extensive losses under our schemes for 3 consecutive years.

The difference with us is that unlike other Insurance providers, who cynically gather data for future marketing purposes and duly fill your mailbox daily. We do try and be up front with customers to let them know the situation - thus the listing upon our current website.

Your view is noted, but there are literally thousands of performance/modified vehicle derivatives that we DO cover. It's just that we chose not to levy a rate upon the better performing models to subsidise the consistantly poor performers.

The alternative to cover these models would be to charge £150 more per Subaru to act as subsidy and give S2000, 200sx, BMW M3 E36, Saxo or other excluded models a reduced rate. Which to me does not represent a viable or sustainable business model.

Kind regards

Tony
