I would definatly NOT say Tunisia !
Lovely country, shame about the people.

Caribbean is the answer I reckon, relax, enjoy etc
Thinking about a trip back there myself some time soon.

Punta Cana comes in quite cheap, and a nice place.

On your way to your dream location, why not stop off here for the day.

I think you will find it interesting.

See the horrors of what happens when people follow rules/orders and dont deviate from them.

See what happens when one man has an idea that he is all powerful, and what he says is right and goes, reasured by his hangers on to go bigger and further.

See what power is all about, and obviously see what happens in the end.

yoza. What a horrible and nasty post. With all the great things I have to be proud of, the incredible people I've met and experiences I've had through the hard work of building and running scoobynet to the best of my abilities and judgement, being the person who has to be the bad guy in order to protect this great community from dissintegration, I can't tell you how much I look forward to not having to read such sickeningly disrespectful and hateful posts as yours.

Quite why someone would take up their time, deliberately attempting to offend and upset someone, for no reason other than a twisted sense of hatred and bitterness, is an understanding I hope I'll never be cursed with.

Everyone else, thanks guys. I really appreciate you going out of your way to help.

Thanks again everyone

I've never fancied a cruise for some reason. I reckon I'd feel a bit penned in.

To be honest, I'm so sick of the whole holiday planning I'm starting to think I might just work instead! LOL

I'm clearly not well practiced enough at all this 'time off' malarky!

Bermuda is a bloody good idea actually, I went there when I was very young. I understand the speed limit is something like 20 MPH, which is a bit of an issue (lol), but I'm sure I'll manage!

Thanks again to everyone, I'm going to have a complete rethink, and then revisit everyone's suggestions with a fresh mind.

You're absolutely right in your advice, FlightMan.

I usually get in the car, head for Heathrow and work the rest out en route.

For the first time ever I thought I'd be grown up about it and try to do something a bit special - to celebrate my new found freedom!

To be honest, I'm now looking at flying holidays, like getting rated on a sea plane going island hopping, or just something in florida where you have a better shot at the weather being good, and hiring a Cessna or something.

I've gone from one extreme to the other!

Right.. decision made (good thing seeing as I'm going Sunday LOL)

I know a lot of people won't give two hoots, but out of respect to everyone who so kindly gave their ideas and help.. here it is...

Hawaii chill out on the beach for a few days, then to LA for a long weekend (of party central), then a drive up to Vegas for a few days, stopping off at Grand Canion en route.

Not the total 100% switch-off I was planning, but I'm looking forward to the rest, all the same!

Thanks again everyone!

Enjoy your hard earned.... and rumour has it if your hitting Vegas it's all on black

Vegas is a real 24-hour party place, ensure you have somewhere else soon after to unwind for a couple of days

Really is the most chilled and idyllic holiday i have ever been on. Fantastic fresh food, you feel like you are there on your own. Flight is a ball ache though.

The island i went to was Kuramathi. Highly recommended.

THIS +1
Although I went to Sun Island

If you do go... see you there. I leave on the 23rd this month, stopping over in Dubai

You being a lanky ****** wont like the flight if it's a 777 though, fly with someone decent or it will spoil it.

Oh ****, you've already decided Doh !!

PS. I haven't got anywhere to stay in Honolulu yet.. so if anyone knows of somewhere nice and romantic, great views, etc.. but ideally in a quieter part of the island it would be great!

Hi All!

Just back from hols.

Hawaii was stunning. LA was ok, and Vegas was what I expected.

I wish I'd stayed in Hawaii for the whole time to be honest.

Two days into the holiday and I was so chilled out, I was driving down a main highway and looked down at the speedo to notice I was doing 25mph! I don't think that's ever happened before!

Will post up some pics soon.

Thanks again to everyone for your suggestions
