If your up for the Carribean type area, I`m gonna suggest Cuba, we went last year, I can honeslty say its the most I`ve ever enjoyed a holiday for a long time!

We stayed in this place:

YouTube - Hotel Meliá Cayo Santa María

You can find it easy enough on google too, Hotel Melia, Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba. All inclusive, Gorgeous food, awesome rooms, minibar etc, 5 min stroll down to the beech, service to your sunbed, pool side and beach side. Big gym with plenty of sport facilities too if you want. We went this time last year and it was very quiet, most romantic for the mrs too. You could wander dwon to the pool mid-day and pick your sunbed!!
What topped it off for me was getting out on the trips around Cuba, awesome place, lots of history, really friendly people, mucho interesting. Lots of old yank motors too! Got too swim with dolphins and go out on jet skis through the mangroves too.

Bit further than you intend, but well, well worth it.

If you go I can provide tips galore. Cheap as chips out there.

Hi All

Unfortunately business commitments have meant I can't now go on Saturday, and have postponed until the following weekend.

Bahamas is still looking favourite though.

Thanks again to everyone for your great ideas.. keep them coming!

Right... Update

I've smashed my pc to bits due to frustration trying to find what I want!

I've made a complete change of mind in terms of what I'm looking for and am hoping you've got some ideas for me, as I only have a laptop left!

I'm looking for :
Luxury
Ideally something like a beach villa, walking straight out the room onto the beach, and clear water, etc
Something like Maldives maybe, but ideally not £10K!
Full on relaxation, waited on hand and foot, more than one restaurante at the resort so you're not eating at the same place every day and night, etc.

Help!!

Gulf coast Florida.
Fly to TIA, BA approx £360rtn, its an 1hour from Tampa to the really nice bits, Anna Maria Island, Holmes Beach, Longboat Key etc. White sand, warm water, lots of good food and wine.

Webbie, Maldives is fantastic but is way over 6 hours. Our journey was over 14hours by the time we'd got to the island.

I would strongly recommend Barbados as its only 8 hours so only marginally longer than your 6 hour requirement. It is a VERY safe island with established infrastructure. It also has THE best restaurants in the carribean.

Not sure about the villa thing there though as I've always stayed in hotels

Thumbs up

QUOTE: Spec needs to include :

- Sunshine!
- Ideally a flight time of less than 6 hours - but negotiable for the right suggestion
- Romantic / Luxury / etc
- A decent sized personal private pool would be a huge plus!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

What about Wigan Pier.....

- Sunshine! ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEED!

- Ideally a flight time of less than 6 hours - but negotiable for the right suggestion. MUCH LESS THAN 6 HOURS.

- Romantic / Luxury / etc. CHECK.

- A decent sized personal private pool would be a huge plus! MASSIVE CANAL JUST OUTSIDE YOUR ROOM.

Bl@@dy helpful me you know.
