this is a very intresting discusion with some very good points.
quick question is it true that if you had the car mapped in summer that you need it to be adjusted in winter due to colder air?

Would that not mean a remap for for summer if mapped in winter.

not necessarily. The MAF compensates automatically for density of air and temperature compensations within the map tables will automatically keep it running right too.
