Gutted for you! Hopefully no engine damage and you are able to remove all the bits.
The most important thing is that you walked away from it.

Was leaving the insurance company out if it not a possibilty..
Surely could of just had the car recoevered and either reshell or break? no need to involve them?

No, I cant afford to buy another shell. So not going through insurers is not an option.

I can't see it being a Cat A because everything apart from the shell is ok. I would imagine it'll get classed as a CAT B.
If thats the case I need to find a friendly breaker to buy it for me and just let me take what I want from the car.

Would you bother going through insurance? Worth more as bits than an insurance claim I would have thought. Just find a cheap shell. Maybe even wide arch 22B type shell to start with. Few floating around at times!

Daz,
Hope you get what you want from the insurance, I'd of thought breaking it would get you more money though.

Cheap isn't that cheap, especially for a 2dr. Offers for a Type-R shell alone seem to be around £1500-2000. I have been watching an RA shell not too far from me which i think would make a great project for just over £1k.
What paperwork or type of business would you have to be in to buy a Cat B?

Gutted for you, these cars become part of our lives and yours was a master piece. At least you were undamaged.
