R2 for me. The other 5 buttons on my car radio have a selection of local channels (Aire, Pulse, Real, Minster and some other) for when R2 play something dull or during their 'old timer' sessions (Sundays).
Whenever I skip to R1 it's always some monosyllabic pre-pubescent rhyme spoken over a simplistic plagiarized beat, devoid of rhythm or melody and based on a subject matter irrelevant to anyone whom doesn't sell controlled substances in downtown Brixton. The two defining moments in (c)rap were the lyrics, 'I'm as serious as cancer when I say rhythm is a dancer', and, 'Hey, it's the Rebel MC, tough like a ninja sting like a bee'

Maybe I should make the transition to Radio 2, Radio one is attempting to be to hip and street and Radio Two is to twee and cosy, need something for us at a difficult age between the two.
I do get the impression that Black people probably listen more to community Radio stations in preference to Radio One and it probably white kids who would like to be black listening to it.
Perhaps I am missing the point, and by the evidence it does sound like they arent playing a Dissproportionate amount of Black music, its just during my day decorating with the Radio on, a lot of tracks were from Black artists and they kept promoting Black music, I wouldnt want them to promote White music so it irratated me that they kept harping on about it.

Radio 1 play a lots of indie music, and a lot of hip hop etc because that is what kids listen to. They are catering for thier target audience.
Nothing to do with thinking 90% of the country is black, its just that most kids like that style of music - As evidenced by the charts every week.

I suppose I gravitate towards rock music, I do listen to all sorts, though currently I find a lot of R n B a bit cheesy and a lot of the Rap music formulaic and predictable, with an undercurrent of violence and Misogny, it does pay to sometimes pay to not listen too closely to the lyrics "Superman that Ho" for example is a good song but, er, quite adult in content if you look further into it.
Is it cos I is white

You're right.
R1 has totally lost it's way in the last couple of years. Moyles and Mills are the only decent DJ's they've got now. (with listener figures to back that up) They keep poaching the "cool" djs from other stations then sacking them after a year when no-one likes them

6Music is far better, Shaun Keavney, George Lamb, Steve Lamacq and Mark Riley, all know their stuff and play a good variation of music + the Guy Garvey show on a Sunday evening and Stephen Merchant on a Sunday afternoon.
XFM good as well, but not as good as a couple of years back, even R2 is worth a listen during certain times of the day, Chris Evans, Jeremy Vine and Wossy at the weekend.

Christ on a Raleigh Burner, tried listening to Radio 2 tonight on the way home because I can't be listening to the current no-name talent-vacuum that's standing in for Mills on R1. Tonights burning question was: who's better; The Beach Boys or The Everly Brothers? This was followed by playing Level42 - Keeping in the Family (how very droll). I drove the rest of the way home in a glowering silence. iPod tomorrow. Probably Dizzee Rascal.

Chris Evans is a shadow of his former self but ok, Steve Lamacq is Ok, Jonathan Ross is entertaining, Mark Riley is one of the funniest and most self effacing people on the Radio, Scott Mills is very dull and predictable, I do like Chris Moyles as he and his cohorts can be genuinely laugh out loud funny but mainly after Sarah *** its a blessing I will never take for granted.
Jo While is a crawly bum licker, Fern Cotton is so lightweight it beggars belief but perhaps thats the market ?
Westwood is where its at !

Chris Moyles every morning for me. Best DJ on Radio.
Tune into Kiss at 11am for Kisstory. Brilliant.
Mostly then just listen to Kiss all day. Sometime retune toR1 for Scott Milles, but Chappers gets on my T1ts. Like listening to your dad on radio.
When Edith Boman gets back i might start tunning into her again. never like her but listened to her show one day and really liked it. Film reviews etc.

Bring back 'Family Favourites'! and 'Sing Something Simple' (for a Sunday night when you've had a boiled egg and toasted soldiers for supper and you're in your jim-jams ready for bed because it's school the next day)
Did I just say that out loud?
