I reckon realistically if I had launch control to assist the launches & got the gear changes bang on it would run very low 12's maybe high 11's. skull rcm had a 440bhp newage featured in evo mag in a tuners newage shootout, it won did 12.4 and that was with very heavy "ice" in the boot, so your "500" classic should easily be in the 11s

I feel there is an eleven in the car. Once it hooked up it pulled well. My gear changes were terrible too..

Dont mean to burst any bubbles here but just as an example as i think some of you have just far to much money.(dont mean to be cheeky or offend anyone)

I am speaking about a friend here as i havent yet had a go at the drag racing as my car wont be ready for a few weeks. When the friends car (p1) was built 3 years ago he dragged it, full road car weight running around 500/500 with no anti lag and no launch control, toyo r888 and got 10.99 at 124.

You guys are saying that you cant achieve this because you dont have the driver aids, i find it hard to beleive espically when you are all well over 500bhp.

its a funny one steve the feel of the classic is old shakey and feels dangerous
newage feels strong solid but not as quick even though the newage has big power over the classic i put it down to the newage being refined but after your post i now know its the stiffness of the chassis
driving the classic reminds me of my old cossie i dont know if its the old twisty chassis that makes it feel so exiting

spoke to paul a while ago re changing all parts from newage onto classic and he said same as you mate he would stick with newage every time on a fast road/track car

tein coilovers on newage/hks coilovers on classic

steve

Why do people not want to improve as drivers instead of throwing money at equipment that does some of the driving for you.

In MY eyes its pointless unless you reached the cars limit but with so many of the cars on this thread they are nowhere near there limits.

When i get my car finished and begin drag racing i will be dissappointted until i reach the 10's and it wont be the cars fault if i dont get there, ill just have to keep practising an hopefully improving.

steve
When I had my old classic shaped impreza running around 400bhp it felt really quick and gave you the butterflies in your stomach on acceleration. This doesn't happen with my current car and I have always said its still too slow after mapping but I know for certain its far faster that my old car even if it doesn't seem it. So it must be the chassis making the car feel safer

Steve, when your next mods are complete (rotated turbo etc), we shall have to both attend a track day at Brands.

Will be a good comparison as both will be running similar power mate

Driving Impreza's with with 400 ish is ok. When you reach 500+ it becomes very different and takes a while to get everything right mate.

Yeah man.....got a few bits and bobs here for my toy

Weather is a bit gloom in Boston but have been to the beach 2 times for a top up in my tan department.

Have only clocked 1 NASIOC car but a few other scoobies here...loads of Corvetts and V8 rumble everywhere.

V power is $299.99 for a gallon here

I have just been browsing the S.I.D.C. forum and a newbie has just posted.

"Hi all, just bought my first bla bla bla"
. 25 people read it and ONE replied.

(Nice Club)

Should be like this thread. Full of insane adults sharing the love of a very non profitable interest
