Project P1 600bhp +
Nice run. Bobs launch was a lot better than my effort.
He is entitled to his opinion, it just seemed so strange reading the word sluggish when talking about my car, (not used to that)

BannySti: Bob will realise that 500+ in a P1 is quick, I'm sure.

Hi Knibby. The EXE-TC suspension is really good. I have never driven on Tein Super Street, however I would be amazed if there was another set up that is more impressive.
40 settings per corner, I run at 20/20/20/20 for general daily driving. I changed to 30 all round and you feel the difference straight away. Will be trying 888's soon which may improve it even more?
Regarding the brakes, to be honest I was real happy with the Prodrive brakes I had. They were so good I thought I would be spending a lot of dollar for a little gain.
Massive difference ! I tried them at 155 and braked hard and it felt very stable with zero fade.
EXE & the AP setup (together), are a riot.
It's often the case of your bottle going before the car does.
You need to up your "bottle" limit by about 4. It then becomes a true dream to drive

Good luck with yours
cheers skullfudge for the reply and advice' will let u know how i get on may be a few weeks though' ur rather good on the key pad and always posting really good threads n great reads keep up with the good work and hope 2 see some wicked strip times posted on here soon az am sure many others are who have enjoyed p1 600 so far

Skull do you have a carbon prop on yours ??? I'm considering one for mine and I'm unsure if anyone has actually seen any benefits from using one ???
I think the only thing my car is missing at the moment is the exe-tc suspension. Its something I may consider buying

ive had one fitted for the past 3 yrs, very light compared with the original as i still have it in garage and keep moving it about, weighs a bloody ton
Hi have not got a carbon prop although I was considering one. I have heard mixed comments regarding them.
Some say I would gain and others say need some weight through the transmission with big power to reduce traction loss?
I may try it.
EXE-TC is money well spent mate. Really impressive.

I'd imagine his time have continue to fall with your old bottom end

Why do you say that trails/Daz, because of unreliability or always being worked on ??. or just not practical ?

I know the feeling guys.
I wish I had the knowledge to build a car like mine, mind you I would not have the time if I did.
The only way I can have a car like the P1 is having it done by someone like Matt at RCM. Mind you if I could build an engine / car like that I would be doing it for a living !.
I am surprised that some of you fella's don't, or that you don't approach tuners for a full time job?.

Skull...not only do you need a fecking good launch you also need bloody fast brutal gear changes too as the total some added up will give you a good drag time.
So as Martyn has said" 1/4 mile isn't really all that easy is it"

besides it's OK when I fubar my own car...I'd hate to do it to someone else's

Last time at The Pod was my 94th time (but only my 2nd time driving up the strip). Had a few goes in SleeperSy's monster, and last time 2 runs in my own car.
Us Scooby guys are slightly different whereby we have 4 wheel drive. I know of teams in the States that have tried it with various pro stock and pro modified alt's and it has never worked out.
I would love to start drag racing but not in my Scoob. Although I know the car is quick (and that's the only reason I tried it on the strip) it's FAR from a drag race machine.
If I wanted to try it I would buy a 69 SS Camaro or similar running 1500+.
mmmmm

An auto box set up is whats required for dragging then all the b*****x about a manual clutch launch will be out the window.
This is one quick Camaro that's well sorted !!

Hi SkullFudge!
My remark was just based on the video where the car looked very sluggish - no two ways about it (times and terminals back this up). http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y21...rent=Skull.flv
Even with the worst start big bhp cars are able to power their way through to a decent time.
I accidently launched in 2nd gear once and smoked the clutch all the way up the strip and still ended up with a better time and terminal (with 340bhp) - I enjoy heads up racing and wasn't about to abort the run at the cost of a clutch YouTube - Subaru- Drag racing - what happens when you launch in 2nd
Am sure you'll get there as you get the car properly set-up and put some practice in
In the meantime you may have your *** handed to you by much lesser cars on the strip.

i would doubt if any of us could of done an 11 in a car we only had back days with new clutch ,gearbox, ect even the masters would have needed a bit of practice surely,
out of interest what were your times on your first outing anyone
i have not done the dreaded quarter i guess mine would be a 15 with 400ish
