Hven't used it once since March/April time. Honestly can't afford to have it on Jus t..tell N..Nat to wear a dressing gown, and me another jumper.
Our heating is crap anyway, one knackered radiator in the front room (where pc is), and one in the bathroom are the only two downstairs
Three upstairs, but two don't work - so go figure
Think with the new prices for gas, it would cost £20 a week to heat my home for say a couple hours a morning/night - don't have that kinda money so jumpers it is.

Wife put it on for a bit on Sunday afternoon when her mom came round.
I nearly passed out.
Thankfully our kids have become hardy from practice sessions of sleeping in the garage* (so they get used to the fact dad isn't happy about paying the French lots of money to heat the house )
*any do gooders on here, this is not actually true

Had it on for 2 hours last night to heat the house as it was pretty chilly. Dont feel comfortable with loads of jumpers and socks on. Like to be walking around my house with loose clothing on Although at the prices we are being charged for fuel now I think I might start on the whole jumper thing

Ours was on once a couple of days ago. Hasn't been on since around April/May time.
During the winter ours is on for an hour in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening. Our bills are really expensive for a little 3 bed semi.
Fortunately it doesn't get quite as cold here (west wales) as some of the other places in the UK. We only have to de-ice the car a handful of times every winter. When I live in Oxfordshire it was every day for a couple of months.

Finally caved into the missus moaning last night and set up our fancy new Drayton wireless thermostat / programmer to turn the heat on mornings and evenings. Currently set for:
6am - 8am: 20 degrees C
8am - 5pm: 16 degrees C
5pm - 10pm: 20 degrees C
10pm - 6am: 7 degrees C
Slightly different program for the weekends due to late nights and laziness

I'm sat in my study/office with the french doors open into the conservatory which is also open. Temp in my room is 18 degrees and I'm fine with that. Heating has not ben used since last winter, don't see a need for it just yet. The 'stat is set at 16 degrees but its not been that cold in the house as yet.
In an evening if its cold I change out of my shorts and T shirt and put some trousers and a long sleeved top on.
If I'm watching a dvd with wifey then we snuggle up under a spare duvet on the sofa.

Absolutely not. I refuse to use the heating until October, now I'll just stretch it out as far as I can.
I did have to succumb last week though, as I have a nasty infection so drugged to the hilt with antibiotics. So am somewhat under weather.
So the heating was on breifly one night (after missus left all the bloody windows open during the day when it was sunny and forgot to close them ). And had to have the fire on low in the living room some nights.
I'm thinking of swapping the fire for a wood burner, as the next gas installer that sees our fire will condemn it (no air replacement vents in the room - as if a 50year old house isn't draughty enough ) but I live in a smokeless zone, so will have to use smokeless coal I guess

However after a visit to a local wood burner shop we were informed that whilst we could pay twice the price for a smokeless certified one we'd be better off with a normal cheaper multi-fuel burner. He said they're all quite clean burning these days so don't produce much smoke and if in the very unlikely event the local council find out your burning wood on it just plead ignorance, apologise, and tell them you'll be using smokeless fuel from now on, honest

Not so because you can get wood burners that meet the requirements to be used in smokeless areas I know this because we're looking into getting one ourselves and also live in a smokeless zone

Ours is left on 16c over summer, just upped it to 18c over the last couple of days and it has clicked on a few times.
During the really cold periods our 46" plasma keeps us toasty

It's positively balmy down her in the tropical south My lounge is currently 21C, partly thanks to the 3 foot thick granite walls. I'm hoping not to use the central heating for a few weeks yet, but my missus soon moans about it being cold as soon September ends, regardless of the actual temperature
I'm on gas central heating as well, which is the most expensive option by far, as the gas over here is actually made from oil, it's not natural gas like you get. For all you pedants, I know natural gas is oil based, but mother nature spent millions of years producing it, not a couple of hours in an overgrown chemistry set. Ones LNG and ones LPG. My annual bill is around £600, and that's without VAT. The leccy bill is another £350, so it does give me a wry smile when I see on the national news that the "typical" home on the mainland pays around £500 combined.

Ah, she must live in the higher parishes if she's rich, I live in the industrialised north. Mind you, we're all millionaire tax exiles and money launderers over here apparently.

FP, for goodness sake, you big wuss! I'm in Herts, and I'm always cold, but even we haven't had the heating on yet!
(although we do have an Aga which takes the edge off the cold )

Have you tried venting the rads? if so you could have sludge in them causing cold spots on the rads. Or your TRV is locked down. Check the pressure on your boiler, should be 1 bar, if its not top it up by the filling loop and then vent all the rads starting with the rad furthest away from the boiler , upstairs first then work youe way down but always with the furthest away and keep checking the pressure, as venting takes air/pressure out of the system.

I have 3 tanks upstairs and a gizmo in the kitchen which runs from pipes upstairs from three tanks between the floor boards.
