I found myself a little chilly earlier on, so I went and had a hot shower. Much cheaper than heating the house.
I've now got my pjs on with winter dressing gown and bedsocks.
Mr MiniShaz will be immensely pleased with my thriftyness! (If not with my sexyness)

Mine is on all year, I just turn the thermostat down to 20 in summer, 21 on cold summer days (most of them ), 21.5 at the moment and 22 in winter.
I lit the wood burner for the first time since spring tonight and am currently suffering from heat exhaustion

It's positively balmy down her in the tropical south My lounge is currently 21C, partly thanks to the 3 foot thick granite walls. I'm hoping not to use the central heating for a few weeks yet, but my missus soon moans about it being cold as soon September ends, regardless of the actual temperature
I'm on gas central heating as well, which is the most expensive option by far, as the gas over here is actually made from oil, it's not natural gas like you get. For all you pedants, I know natural gas is oil based, but mother nature spent millions of years producing it, not a couple of hours in an overgrown chemistry set. Ones LNG and ones LPG. My annual bill is around £600, and that's without VAT. The leccy bill is another £350, so it does give me a wry smile when I see on the national news that the "typical" home on the mainland pays around £500 combined.

Just put my heating on!
It was getting a bit awkward wearing 5 jumpers.
You can't take the northerner out of the lad. I'll always be tight.
The dogs are happy

The slightest hint of cold(er) temps and I'm shivering. I've had my heated blanket on most nights during the summer

House is 17 degrees.
I have to wear lots of layers and take hot baths to keep warm, because the o/h doesn't think it is cold (and he leaves the internal garage door open ...brrrr).
If I had my way, the heating would be on.

Oh goody! Nearly the start of my favourite game then. I turn it up and wonder why, an hour later, that I am still shivering. Check the dial in the hall and OH has obviously crept downstairs and turned it down again. Repeat x 10 each night until next May.

I'm not going to bother at all. I climbed out of my car to go to my Jujutsu session and the temperature was 14.3 degrees according to my car's built-in thermometer.
When I left the session, it felt warmer, the car confirmed it had crept up to 17...

23:50 and 22c in living room - sat here in my tennis gear
Haven't had our first 2008 Winter Log fire yet but I guess it won't be long.
Love the whole business of building a fire. I chop the kindling myself - Have a wood store to season the wood for at least 12 months before it gets brought into the house. Top it up with some coal or occasionally anthracite
That reminds me - time to get the chimney swept!!!
