As stated, ignoring the engineering debate on torque reversal leverage ratios, the thing sells well and few complain about the end result. Mine didn't get the geometry done for four weeks, and still tracked across heavily cambered roundabouts like it's on rails... the geometry set-up made a tiny but positive improvement.

IMHO On std suspension it's worth a punt, coil-overs.... maybe not ?

Well let me just put this out there. Of all my suspension mods - which are primarily road biased rather than track - the ALK was the biggest improvement IMHO. Without even mentioning my suspension work to them, two tuners - one my local motorsport prep garage who deal with everything from Scoobs to Ferraris, and the other one of the major Subaru tuners who is on here; both commented on their test drives of my classic wagon on how noticeably well it corners.

It's on KYB gas dampers (non-adjustable), Eibach lowering springs (-25mm) and rear camber bolts, cheapo ebay rear strutbrace, Whiteline everything else - ALK, rear 22mm ARB on the hardest setting, front and rear alloy droplinks. Crucially perhaps, it's on Whiteline's recommended fast road geometry settings as well which means slight toe out at the rear and a little negative camber all round.

No abnormal tyre wear, no weird handling - you just point it where you want it to go and it goes. It definitely got rid of that horrible understeery driving-from-the-front feeling of the standard car.

Having had coilovers on my old track and drag Clio, they were very useful to achieve certain things but not much fun on the road. That put me off going too hardcore on my Subaru and I'm glad. It makes for a incredibly fast B-road car that feels safe, predictable and goes like the clappers.

If i may ask, do you have a link for me where you got your road geometry settings?

That's an interesting thread Simon - and now I've found a decent local place to do alignment I might have a play with some of those!

I'm a bit limited in what I can do with an 02WRX - at the moment it has a Mocom setup, which from memory is about -1.1 camber on the front, -1.3 on the rear, caster of about 3.6 on the front (with ALK) and toe pretty much 0 all round. I'm happy with it at the moment, but don't have much to compare it to.

p.s. - these settings are from memory, so before you rush out and copy them let me check for sure!
