F***** police arghhhhhhhhhh
I thought that turning up, looking smart, being polite and explaining the facts with evidence would have helped, but they didn't give a ****e abt facts such as the bridge being just over two tenths of a mile the distance the police said I was travelling for, even though I had slowed rite down before leaving the bridge as there is a residential area.
They just read the false police statement and believed every word, basically I was treated the same as if I had been speeding through a packed town in the middle of the day, when all I had done was go over a four lane bridge at the same speed most people do regularly in the day time with pedestrians about....as you can probably tell even though this was a while ago now it still pees me off just thinking abt it....to add insult to injury I got home that day after court to see a program on TV showing twts racing corsas etc in Yarmouth, these ******* were going against traffic in some cases and all the police said they would do is warn them and send them on there way!!! not kidding they actually went against traffic using both lanes ffs and got a slap on the wrist.
sorry for the story but need to get it off my chest lol
i hate the police i remember when i passed my test on the 24/06/05 and i was so happy just filled the tank on my94 mk3 golf 1.4 i loved it and just drove all night with my g/f but got pulled at about 3'oclock in the morning on the way home not speeding or anything just a so called routine check so thats less than 24hours and as i was so new to driving those blue lights really s**t you up lol.i drove for like 500 yards to pull up somewhere safe.it was a traffic police car with a man and women gave me all the is this your car, looked at my paperwork, tyres tread depth, under the bonet just genreal nit picking she didnt have me for anything so i thought ended up she giving me a summons to go to court for a cd10 i asked what i have done wrong she said going throught a unmarked cross road without checking what a joke i was so young and mad i swore got in trouble i said i wanted to see proof me trying to be a smart *** lol for that got told to sit in the back of the traffic police car and watch a vid of me so called going through a unmarked cross road with on checking it was clear i said give me the ticket and see you in court.got home and this is at like 4 30 in the moring and i have had a long day and sat up and wrote down everything as it happened in my words got the g/f at the time to do the same.like 6 months later got to court met the pair of tw*t.they even tried talking to me told them where to go.and for all my trouble i got 4 points and 100 fine and 30 court costs.so from that day on i would not even p*ss on a traffic officer if they was on fire

Take it to court, I had a speeding allogation a couple of years back, they claimed I was doing 65 in a 50 at the Seven Bridge tolls.
I was adiment I wasn't speeding, I travel this section of the M4 all the time, knew they would be there and spotted the camera van whilst I was still in the national speed limit. Drove through the 50 section at 45 (GPS confirmed) but they claimed they had Photo proof etc.
I spoke with my local solicitor, he advised to plead not guilty.
Took it to court: case was adjoured, back to court again: case was adjoured again. The day before the next court date, my solicitor sent a fax asking for proof of speeding allogation. ie Video evidance and advising that we would contiune to ask for the case to be adjourned until this evidance was produced.
Two weeks later, received a letter advising they were dropping the case and that they had made a mistake.
Asked the South wales camera Partnership for my cost back and compensation for wasting my time. Took nearly a year but received a cheque for £210 for time wasted, milage going to court and postage cost (recorded delivery etc) Didn't have to pay solicitor as I had done loads of business with them buying and selling houses etc and they let me off there fees.
Fight the b4stards, They tried every trick in the book to try and get me to admit and take the points/fine.
I have no faith in the police/criminal justice and I'm most of us don't.

So I take it as usual no-one has anything to say in favour of the Police or the criminal justice system..... never mind, let's just disconnect the 999 system and see how everyone gets on. They pay tax and NI as well you know and are also still members of the general public some of the time....
its true, but it shouldnt be target led, the government has taken too much control over the police over the last few years, same as all public sector jobs, teachers, doctors dentists etc, no customer service, all target driven, just turns the public against them
well honestly.
This thread proves that there are loads of criminals on Scoobynet. I didn't realise there were so many here who had been done for speeding, or jumping lights...
Looks like driving a scooby makes it easy pickings for the forces of law and order! Good job we don't have large bore after-market exhausts, or dark tinted windows, or smaller than normal front number plates, or wrongly-spaced plates, or show plates, or neons, or drive with the fog lights on, or do grand prix starts from the lights, or blah blah blah (fill in as appropriate from previous scoobynet threads moaning about this, that or the other)...
One day, maybe we could accept some responsibility for our actions. I suppose we still have some growing up to do until then.
And another thing, I must be long overdue an infraction for talking sense on here. Go for it lads - it's the least I deserve!

Indeed the service is awful at times IMHO but last I heard traffic wasn't a recordable performance target, mainly burglary, violent crime, business crime, etc...
, also the way there statement is formatted is a joke, mostly consist of tick boxes e.g. Level of traffic
1.none
2.light
3.moderate
4.heavy
They chose moderate even though it was ten at night and know other cars abt
thats just one example. Its the system I blame mostly rather than the police officers themselves to be honest, tho some are complete ankers. Another example of this countries policing system is how my sisters abusive ex managed to get away with so much for the last few years, on one hand she was advised to change her home number by the police, then on the other she was requested by the court to give her new number to his solicitor!
also an example of how some officers(I like to think minority) conduct themselves. An officer lied about not speaking to my sister one day about an incident when her now ex came round ant threatened her, how do we know he lied? its on record! after complaining a record of the visit was found, as far as I know nothing was done about the officer who lied.Feckin joke!

The calls to the 999 system are mainly to do with the low life scum the police should be dealing with, instead of constantly picking on the easy target motorist. When they change their ways you might find that people have a better opinion of them. We are fed up with paying high insurance, road tax, petrol without pc plod and his speed gun hiding behind a tree.
The police are members of the general public and should be more considerate. We aren't the one's who hurl the abuse at police, or try to shoot/stab them.
yes mate you go to court looking for "justice" and all your going to find is "just them" and i hope you've got deep pockets. wear some padding on your *** because its going to get a spanking
they are in it together! dress down not up as your appearance will dictate the level of the fine.
take a chapstick because you'll be doing lots of a$$ kissing.
put a chilli in your pocket and when they find you guilty rub it in your eyes and start whailing uncontrolably.
tell them your girlfriend is pregnant with twins and you dont know how you will cope.
which if your lucky and find a beak with an ounce of compassion left in thier husk may reduce your fine and points.
remember they are members of the Bar which when translated = stewards and we all know what a member is for. and if thats not clear enough for you.
They are ******* bar stewards.

methinks someone had a bad experience in court!!!
My Dad was in the police until he gave it up after getting fed up with the form filling and the tossers he was working with.
His view is that there are lots of sensible coppers out there with an ounce of common sense, but far too many little hitlers attracted by the power and occasional chance to give someone a kicking. For example, a guy I went to school with is now a police sargent in a small UK city (no names mentioned) - the guy is a racist c*** and I pity the poor people he has to deal with. He's the kind that gives all coppers a bad name.
The system of targets and the way the rules are drafted don't help - whereas before they would be able to use their judgement, all too often now they are rewarded for being a stupid sod.
Haven't had anything more than mild frustration (e.g. being pulled when a passenger in a mates car and them searching and failing for anything that they would be able to pin on us) at the hands of the police in the recent past - hopefully that will continue!

Driving home from the gym with two friends in my Suzuki Alto i got pulled over and accused of jumping a red light
the light was green ffs.... they gave me a fixed penalty notice
when i argued that the light was green, the officer replied "your driving was bad back there" I asked "what was wrong with my driving?" officer replied "your car was going side to side" I said "I changed lanes once on the roundabout, is it illegal to change lanes?" officer replies "you can pay the fine or we will see you in court"
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE F******, they were on the other road joining the junction and apparently thier light was green when i passed through!!!!! They followed me for 10 minutes after we passed that junction before they stopped me!!!! and there was a another police car in front of me when i passed through that junction, that light was definately green!!! The b*******, sorry i am a little worked up right now
Its my word against thiers and guess who the judge is going to believe!!!!!!
The prat copper explaining **** to me had to be corrected several times by his colleague.
I guess he was the rookie in training.
I told them it was green and they said I could appeal at court if I wanted but my 2 front tyres were illegal as well but they'll let it go.
Bull****, they were both fitted 3 weeks previous.
Corruption in the Police force is nothing new mate.
That's the reason they gain no respect from the public.
FIGHT!!!
They only pulled you because they are jealous of your life....they have to deal with scum most of the time so, if they pull over random people for fake or petty reasons, they are busy. This means they don't have time to go after the real criminals who might put up a fight.
No matter what job you do, anyone would take the easier option if it gets you the same bonus!

Obviously not in this instance. Unfortunately, it only takes a small number of (up their own ****) police officers with bad attitudes before they all get tared with the same brush. The anger and criticism here is against these police officers who think they are above the law.

Rubbish. ARVs that are traffic cars act as traffic cars until such time as they have to shoot people carrying things in bin liners.
Let's face it. The police are a necessary evil.
If there were no criminals, we wouldn't need them.
The fact is however, that if you end up in a magistrates court, you WILL be found guilty unless
a) you can prove you are innocent or
b) you can show the witness (police) is lying or dishonest
This is sad, but it is what happens.
If you are smart, you will just take the points and fine and hope you don't find yourself in this situation again.

Numerous police officers have been posting on similar threads to this in the likes of Pistonheads forums & on Evo magazine threads and for the most part, they seem like descent guys that post. I even know a couple of traffic officers around my area through football games etc. and they tell me that most of them are @rseholes.... lol
But...they do know and admit that the majority of officers/young ladder climbers WILL do ANYTHING to get convictions under their belts.
Motoring offences ARE driven by targets and the government pressures the force to meet these targets and the majority of jobsworth officers accept it and know what to do to meet these targets. Simple fact is, motor offences are cheap & effective ways to raise revenue. Afterall, if you catch a burgular/murderer etc. you spend a lot more to find them and don't raise £££ at the end of the job.
The government are making officers in the mould that they currently are and it's a joke because, as you say, they are just people at the end of the day but because of the way they have to operate, they are being turned into tw@ts!
I have been caught speeding 3 times and so far have suffered 9points and a 4month ban so I am not a fan either but I think the blame lies squarely with the government.

Right
Having read and laughed at this post I feel that a few things need to be put right.
1. It is very unfair to start name calling - pig F****** etc and suggesting that Officers are all bent and out to get a conviction for performance figures - absolute rubbish!
Yes there are good and bad in all occupations and we all accept that but come on.
There are Police officers, including me, who subscribe to this forum and other and are heavily into the Subaru scene. I may, in your opinion, be unethical and bent, well let me tell you, if you met me you may actually think I'm an allright guy.
And guess what - there is more to Police work than traffic. It never has and never will be my scene. There is a place for it and if an Officer chooses that path then so be it. Personally it wasnt for me. I can appreciate that people get upset when they are stopped etc - everyone I know has a story to tell, including myself believe it or not!
Someone has said on here that the Police will do anything to get a conviction. The Police do not convict - the CPS and the courts convict. The Police gather the evidence and then take it to the CPS who make a decision - for crime matters anyway. If there is no realistic prospect of conviction the CPS will not proceed.
Also the Police do not WORK for the CPS.
Everyone has the right to a fair trial and if you feel the need to fight your corner in a courtroom then that's fine. I would do the same if I genuinely believed that I was innocent. But the Magistrates and the Police do not collude. In my experience the odds are stacked against the Police at court purely because we have to have covered every eventuality to get a job to court.
I pay tax and national insurance like everybody else which means that I therefore pay for my own wages because apparently you lot pay my wages. Well I must be doing the same then?
I could go on but whats the point.
I am not meaning to be personal to anyone on here at all. Everyone has their own opinion, but please do not tar everyone with the same brush. It's not appropriate to say on here what my area of Policing is but maybe if you knew you might actually see that I am doing a worthwhile job and helping people. There is more to life that Traffic Police!
But let me tell you - I actually DO catch criminals. I WILL go out of my way to gather the evidence ethically and within the law and to see that people are brought to task where appropriate and many people do respect what I do for them. The problem is people dont get to know that so consequently all we do is write out fixed penalty tickets according to you lot.
With respect, the majority of you who have posted on this thread, and many others about the same subject really have no idea what you are talking about and all it becomes is a breeding ground for more and more abuse.
I will await the next round of abuse and will take it all with a pinch of salt
thanks for reading.

The problem isn't that all officers are workshy, racist, trigger-happy thugs who prefer to spend their days eating doorstep sandwiches in the canteen and doling out speeding fines than catching criminals. Only a hybrid of superannuated Wolfie Smith and right-wing shock jock could take so cretinously simplistic a line.
Sums up a lot of the posters on this thread then.
Geoteds2002 - the Police Federation should be up in arms and marching on the streets at the current Govt criminal justice policy.
The rules, policies and targets in a few areas (traffic being one of them) skew the public perception so far against the police that it obscures all of the hard working guys and the good work they do.
I think that the Police should publically refuse to enforce stupid laws and regs to make a point. Unfortunately if they don't they get the blame for the rules as they are public face of them.
One to start with - section 44 terrorism random drag nets. Made me miss my train!
Time for a revolution!
