Cant wasps detect when another wasp has been killed? That would explain why you are getting plagued by them more than most
Not sure about wasps, but bees do. A pheromone is released as they die, having disembowelled themselves when they use their sting. Wasps don't commit Hari-Kiri(sp?) as their stingers have no barbs.
