Yoza: I'm thinking of the following for my birthday. Any reasons why I should not buy this? Any similar priced watches I should also look at?
I want something with a brown leather strap and white face.

TICTACTIME.co.uk – 80 brands of watches – 8000 watches

Thanks
Steve

the Raymond Weil is very nice. My girlfriend bought me one last Christmas. didn't consult me, so she bought it because she liked the look of it. Quartz but still a very nice dress watch. Purple nearly black face, silver hands. Othello i think its called.

Sinn make some lovely watches for £800 - £1000, well respected make amongst those in the know, but not widely recognised which can be a good thing.

I wear a Sinn 144 GMT , but the Sinn U1 is a a superb watch and around your budget. Unfortunately you won't find them in the High Street to try. Only one official dealer in the UK, www.chronomaster.co.uk.

Well worth a look

Gareth

does everyone else list their 'expensive' watches (£1500+) on there house insurance?

I've been asked for written valuations from a 'bona fidi' jewellers. (This also costs!)

then with the extra primium ££££

Some won't even quote for high end £6K wtches like the Daytona

This is the watch that gets the most use by myself at the moment. Fancy an Oris or Tag Manaco next.
