Yeah as chris says a lockblock should work fine with most slim led torches, i'll soon find out if it fits mine anyway, failing that if i get desperate i can use two jubilee clips, a bodge but it works.

There are other clips out there plus the straps are removeable on the lockblocks so i can use larger velcro straps should i need to.

I bought this mainly on the price, if i break it no biggie, though use protected ultrafires, they are the most reliable and fit the best as some batteries don't have nipples so slide around.

Li-ions have been known to catch fire hence the need to use protected cells and a decent charger, but the danger is minimal unless you're stupid, the light as you see is great.

Cool - yea that would work. It's just a couple of velcro straps. Quite useful for adjusting the beam up and down too by rotating it around the bars.

I have 2 x surefires ( a 60 lumen and a 120 lumen), the 60 stays at home and the 120 comes to work. I also carry a "Black Bear" 720 at night (converted 2D maglight) which puts out over 600 lumens....

Check out some of his (Black Bear) posts on CPF..

They charge is us dollars but they're based in honk kong, yes i did order it from there, took a fair while as they were out of stock for a few days, i ordered it on the 17th and only today recieved it.

But then at 22 notes i really can't complain.

The charger and batteries i got from ebay pretty fast, less than a week from hk.

To further save battery power and to prevent total battery run down if you should forget to switch off your flashlight the flashlight will switch off automatically after 15 minutes when in modes 1-3.
I can see that being a pain, probably the reason why it's on offer.

These may not be any good for a cycle, but I was tempted to buy one, because of not worrying about batteries, as they work on the Faraday principle, they are waterproof also, and at quite a low price ......... My question is, has anyone got one, and what are they like ?

Nice, quite a few on there are fenix mad, have a look in the mtb sections you will see a few threads about using torches as bike lights, as ive said in there bike lights are a major rip off.

Name's dazza

Those shaky lights are ok as an emergency but the tops have been known to break off because of that weight bouncing around, those wind up led torches are pretty good.

Well, after much consideration based mainly on the information and links provided on this thread I've made a choice to go for the Fenix L2D Cree Q5 along with a Lockblocks holder direct from fenixtorch.co.uk. Total cost £45.90.

I also considered the very reasonably priced and specced MTE SSC P7 and some of the other choices available, but opted for the Fenix in the end mainly because I could get hold of it much more quickly and easily.

Should arrive in the next couple of days. I hope it lives up to expectation as I really want to attempt to commute off-road to the station right through the winter, which involves a couple of miles on completely unlit towpath. Looking at the various reviews and comments I think it should be ok. I'll soon know!!

Well i have the lockblock, it fits the mte p7 fine, any bigger and id be pushing my luck.

To those that use fenix through paypal, have a look at the payment and see what their contact site is, had me rather worried for a minute as i thought it was a bad payment taken.
