Gumball 2000 get its name from a similar rally that was portrayed by Burt Reynolds. The 2000 bit started out cos of the distance driven in miles.
In 1999 there was Gumball 3000 (1999)
In 2000 there was Gumball 3000 (2000)the one I went on.
In 2001 there was Gumball 3000 (2001) the one where the cars were highjacked and the German prince wrote of his car (a Brabus E55 with a Brabus V12 engine) just yards from the finish and the one the Ferrari that flipped off the road etc. This was also the same rally that featured in Ruby Wax program sometime last year.
