Default Russia Presses Into

SENAKI, GeorgiaRussia issued an ultimatum to Georgia on Monday to disarm its troops along the boundary with the pro-Russian separatist enclave of Abkhazia as Russian tanks rolled across the border and occupied a military base in western Georgia.
The move was a sign that fighting could escalate on a second, western front after the conflict initially broke out last week around South Ossetia, the separatist enclave further east.
President Dmitri A. Medvedev of Russia said its forces had “completed a significant part of the operations to oblige Georgia, the Georgian authorities, to restore peace to South Ossetia,” according to a transcript of his remarks with Anatoly Serdyukov, the defense minister, on the Kremlin Web site.
Separately, Russia said it was seeking an emergency meeting with NATO to discuss the Georgian crisis.
But the Russian Defense Ministry said that armored vehicles and troops had overrun a military base in the Georgian town of Senaki, 25 miles south of the Abkhazian border, suggesting that Russian troops had already begun to move south from the enclave into Georgia proper.
The Russian ultimatum, issued by Maj. Gen. Sergei Chaban, commander of Russian peacekeeping forces in Abkhazia, called for Georgian troops to disarm in the Zugdidi District, along the border between Abkhazia and Georgia.
Russia has poured extra forces into Abkhazia, where it now has at least 9,000 troops and 350 armored vehicles.
Giga Bokeria, a Georgian official close to the president, said the ultimatum raised alarms that Russian troops would now make a broader push into Georgian territory in the west of the country. Many Georgian troops have been tied up in fighting farther east near South Ossetia.
A pivotal question in the conflict, which has involved heavy fighting since late last week, is whether Russia would push beyond these regions and farther into Georgia.
On Sunday, a reporter for The New York Times saw an armored personnel carrier emblazoned with the letters MT, the Russian abbreviation for peacekeepers, on the street in Senaki and on Monday saw tanks and troops occupying the military base there. However, there was no immediate sign of fighting.

I hate computers.

Have you got a restore disk or a windows XP disc? Try booting from CD

Well prices look low so wont hurt to replace it.

I ordered my other bits from here:

Computer Supplies and PC Components from Novatech

Not 100% sure which PSU is the one to get - the one on there is a 200W, so this one:

FSP-350ATX : FSP 350W POWER SUPPLY : Power Supplies : novatech.co.uk

Would work ?

Get the best quality PSU u can afford n spend a lil more i reckon, that one is a bit on the cheap side. PSU is prolly the most important component for stability.

Does it matter about mine being 200W and replacement being 350/400W ?

Its an older P4 motherboard / PC so hope most PSU's will fit / work ?

Yea will be fine, just make sure the form factor is the same for the motherboard, which will probably be ATX. Higher wattage is better, but not the end all. You could get a quality 350W item and that would be just as good.

Did you replace mobo and cpu like for like? I ciuldn't work out if you did or not.
If you didn't *sucks air in through teeth*....theres your problem.
I did the same earlier this year, got a bew mobo and cpu, was too lazy to re-install windows, so tried loads of methods to get round it. Had to re-install windows in the end.
If you can go into the bios and mess around in it for a while, then surely its not the psu. Its a windos BSOD because there is new hardware detected.

I agree. Before buying a new PSU, reinstall windows.

When I turn it on, it starts up and on screen comes the message (black screen, white writing) "PC was not shut down properly" etc and the options to start in safe, normal etc mode - which you select with the arrow keys on keyboard. There is a 30 sec or so countdown.
Now whatever option I select, it doesn't matter which, a few seconds after selecting it just reboots and goes through that cycle again.
I have tried booting from disk and same thing happens, just restarts.

So not sure how I reinstall windows?

Yes I did replace like for like, motherboard and memory (actually upgraded the memory) as it was doing this before and so I changed mobo & ram and still does exactly the same so by elimination I seem to be replacing all components !

Would a faulty graphics card cause this ?

Are you sure you are actually booting from disc? By default, the CD/DVD drive wont be the first in the list. In the BIOS you should be able to change the boot order.
