WHATS THE FASTEST CAR YOU HAVE EVER OWNED? HOW FAST/BHP?
#32
MY old Cerbera 4.5, 0-60 in 3.9, 0-100 in 8.9 and 420bhp.... so they say. More like 360bhp but it was still quick enough for an indicated 190mph before I ran out of room.
Been in a pro-sport GT-style racing car, that's the quickest I've been with a sub 3 0-60!
I've decided it's not all about speed though. The thrill is the twisty stuff and the acceleration/decelration. Anything over 140mph is pretty pointless these days really.

1972 Ford Falcon XA GT coupe in OZ. V8, 5.8litre modified. 560bhp. 10.9 secs down the 1/4 at Eastern Creek Raceway, Sydney in 1996. For those that don't know these cars, similar to the car in the Mad Max movie.
After this, still in OZ a 1988 Holden HSV Group A Commodore (Walkinshaw) 5.0 litre V8. Stock 245bhp. 14.7 secs down the 1/4 at Eastern Creek Raceway, Sydney in 1998.
Now in Greece, a MY00 Scooby Turbo, with roughly 280ponies. Will find out exactly soon!
Cheers,
Wrexy.

Sierra Cossie - 515.4bhp @ 7000rpm / 421.5 lbft @ 5000rpm (engine dyno confirmed). 400+bhp per tonne (Gross weight 1275Kg).
180.9mph Datron timing gear confirmed (before we ran out of room on a very hot day at Bruntingthorpe). Still had 1000rpm to go, gearing was a bit too tall, and it would probably have gone faster with the OE crown-wheel and pulling more revs...
Leaves two black lines from 50 to 90mph with just a prod of the throttle and will wheelspin at 125+ in the wet four up To say it is a bit of an animal would be an understatement along the lines of saying Bernard Manning is a little bit obnoxious and slightly overweight .
Gives sweaty palms syndrome just THINKING about driving it... But is the ultimate thrill and challenge - 4wd is for girls....

There were 13 cars in our street. I owned 7 of them plus a company car Don't ask how many watches I've got.
Not bad for 28yo (and I've forgotten a few). Never wrecked one either. The beauty of doing the work yourself. You can get things outside your means.
First three of choice are WRX's, one of the Spitfires and then the 911.
Worst was the MR2.

Erm, well.. my R34 Skyline is fairly rapid 400bhp
But for violent acceleration, my supercharged Lotus Exige (340bhp/tonne) is geared to go like stink and corners so fast it hurts your neck.
