Ian, can you tell me what advantage the 326mm 2 piece discs and bells (£295 a pair) have over the standard 326mm fronts for the Brembo calipers (£145 a pair).

I have a MY03STi with standard calipers and need replacement discs. Just trying to work out the difference and whether I should upgrade?

The 2 piece discs and bells benefit in two ways , first as the bells are bolted in place , when the discs get really hot and expand , they allow a small amount of movement between the discs and bell , this stops the walls of the bells going out of shape which is how most discs warp , also as the bells are made from aluminium , they will dissapate heat quicker than an all iron disc so stay cooler , and dont transfer as much heat into the wheel bearings.

The 2 piece discs are more suitable for the spirited driver or those doing track days.
Hope this helps
Cheers Ian

Ian

Sorry if this has been asked before, but due to "Page Not Found" errors I'm unable to see! How does your Big Brake Kit compare with brembo brakes? How far ahead is the AP 6 pot kit? Cheers

You can fit the brembo brakes from an STi with our thicker handbrake shoes , your standard brakes are 290mm and the brembo's are 316mm , along with a larger pad and caliper.

I can supply you grooved discs and better pads to go with the brembo calipers

Or you could upgrade to the AP 4 pot rear kit designed for the STi , which you will also need the handbrake shoes we do.

Cheers Ian

Ian,

Did we ever ascertain whether you were also offering the AP kits within the GB? I'm interested in the 308mm upgrade.

Best wishes,

Paul

Hi
Yes , give me a ring to discuss what calipers you have as there are quite a few Brembo ones that can be used.

Paul
I should be able to do something with the AP caliper kits , again give me a ring

Cheers Ian

Can anyone tell me how the two piece 326mm discs compare with the Performance Friction setup...? I'm looking to use the PF1 pads but am wondering if it's worth saving almost £200 and getting Ian's two piece discs over PF's offerings.... anyone?
