Wink

look i will let anyone by me if i see them coming up fast and i know they have the power to O/take me!!!!! BlowDog/J/etc etc... but when u see someone up behind, i slow to let them pass, i thought that some ie Cossie Escort was it Craig? i let get on the pit straight! but i was suprised that he didn't pull away from me as much as i thought he would, when i picked my speed back up to follow him!! he has 100bhp+ on me! (we met at the Priory 2 weeks b4)
others to i moved over 4 on the back straight after they came behind through the bend, i once again moved over, but some did not pull past me!? ?????

FireFox
yes i had the 'salsa-king' stickers! lol
i remember you passssiiinnngg mmmeee,i was on MY COOL down lap!!!!!! lol maybe not!!

its all friendly banta fun, and we ALL had a good day, with the weather as good as we could have got 4 a day in Jan!!!

When i went out with John in the morning we followed/pasted!!! that red/kit car!?, it was leeekin' fuel from the rear end! we could smell it, then it spun into the pit entrance!!! v. dangerous!

Phil

quote:
Sorry John...I couldnt see you.... I had a run off thank god...even had to swerve through the tire wall chicane.. lol...

Its OK jay, like i said earlier i was in the main relieved you didnt stuff it big time. I know my car is a bitch to see, thats why i drive with my mains on perminantly on track.

May be worth just backing off a bit if you know there is a car passing you after you indicate right because you obviously have a lot of grunt and i was only passing you at a slow rate.

Just glad i realised there was no way you were going to make that corner, could have been a messy one that!

Phil, i couldnt just smell the fuel, i could see it pouring out, thats why i nailed it so quickly, i didnt fancy spinning out on that stuff.

I still think the track was perfect except for 10% in the first sessions, maybe knowing the track so well gives me more confidence in remembering the dodgy bits?

It's always sensible to stay well below your limits in those conditions though if you aren't 100% sure about the track, it is all about fun and there is no fun in stuffing your car!

I also know the realy slippy bits on track anyway, as when wet the aviation fuel from the aircraft makes McLanes/Coppice very slippy yet the rest of the track is fine.

I expect you guys will give me a hard time at Oulton, as i have only ever driven that track once before, and that was in the 22B, so i will be learning like the rest of you. Should be a lot of fun, be carefull at druids please, i have seen some nasty crashes there whilst at race meetings, its a double apex right hander and it sucks you in. There is NO run off on the exit!

Final reminder CHANGE YOUR OIL!!

john
i could smell it!
also the way you over took that Lotus Exige! at Redgates! i think the term 'sheet of toilet peper' comes into mind!!!! v. safe though...as i would expect from you.

i'm at Oulton, but as a spectator/passenger, think my car has had enough this year!!!!lol

I've had to drop her in at Beechdale subaru Nottm tonight, my rear brakes have had it!!! might just be the pads! squeek/rubbin' noise when i drive+louder when i brake! this only started on my way home.

so the oil need changing now does it?
as we give the cars so much stick?

I only had the fully synthetic oil put in a month ago at the 30k service - do I really need to change it now?

Anything else I need to change??

Reckon I may need to upgrade the brake fluid to something with a higher boiling point for the next one - everytime I went back out the brakes were useless for a couple of corners!

Cool

What are all you idiots on about??? the lads in the Red S1 Turbo nearly took me and another P1 out But that wasn't their fault, I know they had leaked oil onto their tyres. I offered my help to them in the pits but they seemed ok and knew what to fix, I heard that the P1 driver had a right moan at them Jees its a Track Day and thats what happens.

There was also a Red Porker 924 that missed me by inches but thats all part of Track Days, if you lads go to the Ring which I know most won't , try going around a blind bend at 80MPH and a car and a bike are directly in your way happened to me!

*Touched Wood* I have never span or come off so far on track and I don't plan to, but if your car has given up the ghost then ce la vie.

Harj....

PS... Mike you PUSSIE, thought you didn't spin? ROFLOL, it was my talking when driving that probably slowed me down

Exclamation

Guys, do yourself a big favour. This has been covered a million times now!

Get the oil changed after every track day, because the oil used in your subaru engine burns when used on track and degrades quickly.

You could probably get away with 2 days on track with it, but why take the risk, it costs bugger all for a filter and oil change.

Passing the exiges was fun, i love the look of them. I would really like to have a drive in one on track actually to see what they can do.

I drove an elise round cadwell a few years ago, loved every second of it but found the lack of power a bit frustrating. They need another 100BHP to be quick i think.
